LDSS Announces Night of Champions to Honor Differently-abled Working Adults and Their Employers
(SAVANNAH, GA) The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) announces the sixth annual Night of Champions will be hosted Thursday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa – Hotel Grand Ballroom. This community celebration distinguishes local organizations that hire and retain differently-abled people, including those with Down syndrome, and recognizes the contributions made by these employees.
According to the National Down Syndrome Congress, 80 percent of the 15,000 people of working age (18-60) with Down syndrome are unemployed. Low expectations and a lack of understanding about the skills and work ethic many people with Down syndrome possess have contributed to this statistic. LDSS hopes to reverse this trend by encouraging Savannah area employers to give differently-abled workers a chance.
“Dignity and self-respect are borne out of feeling that what we have to offer makes a difference,” said LDSS Night of Champions Chairperson, Allyson Harvin.
This year’s Night of Champions will be emceed again by celebrity chef and author, Jamie Deen. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at nightofchampions.org
For more information, please contact Allyson Harvin at email@example.com.
The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) is a family support group to benefit people with Down syndrome and their families through local leadership, outreach, education, and advocacy to champion and celebrate acceptance and inclusion. Meetings are held every 4th Tuesday of the month. LDSS is an affiliate of the National Down Syndrome Society. For more information about LDSS, visit http://www.ldssga.org/

What exactly is vulnerability in an EFT session? Is it appropriate for an EFT Practitioner to be vulnerable during a session, and what’s that like for the client? How important is it that our clients really know us?
During this heart-felt and honest discussion, Annabel and Ingrid will discuss ‘dropping in’ versus ‘Band-Aid’ tapping; what it means to really be there with your client, and the difference between vulnerability and weakness in an EFT session.
Ingrid Dinter is a business coach for coaches and healing professionals, and a Level 3 EFT Master Trainer. She has been using EFT for 14 years and has been helping hundreds of clients with EFT and coaching. Ingrid has coauthored several books, research studies and articles about EFT. She is a motivational speaker, teaching her audience how they can get unstuck from volunteering and get paid for what they love.
Annabel Fisher started her EFT Practice on a shoestring. Still experiencing many of the side effects of serious CFS, she used her experiences to establish a niche working with chronically ill clients, and created a 6-figure business after clearing many limiting beliefs including the biggest: “People who are very ill can’t afford to pay for my services”. A Certified EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner and Trainer, she now focuses her attention on training and mentoring students to become masterful Certified EFT & MR Practitioners, and empowering them to create wildly successful EFT Practices.
