Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill (AIMI), hosted by MaryLovesJustice Neal
Advocacy to end police violence against the mentally ill, end solitary confinement, decriminalize mental illness, remove barriers to timely psychiatric treatment, increase mental hospitals, reinstate insurance coverage for psychiatric hospital inpatients, relax laws blocking involuntary commitment, establish assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) programs that mandate continued psychiatric treatment and provide subsistence assistance (food and housing) for mentally ill people, especially those released from correctional facilities and hospitals. Eliminate incarceration without trials, support crisis intervention team (CIT) training for police and corrections officers. End capital punishment against all people, especially those with brain dysfunctions caused by retardation, drug addiction, and/or mental illness.
We support H.R.3717 "Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act", a congressional bill introduced by Rep. Tim Murphy in December 2013.

Mr. Jeff Rose is a 20 year disabled combat Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He went into private practice in 2003 using ‘Strength based Brief-Solution Focused’ therapy. In 2009 Mr. Rose signed on with a national contract and started the National Guard Psychological Health Program in SC. In 2011 He joined the new national contract for the Air National Guard and started the Psychological Health Program in SC for them. In 2013 Mr. Rose became the Northeast Regional Director of the Air National Guard Psychological Health Program. In 2014 Mr. Rose founded the Freedom Fighters Recovery Center, Inc. This Non-Profit Organization treats the mental health issues of our returning Combat Veterans and their Families. It also trains new Mental Health Therapists how to work with our Veteran population.
This show is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. Guests share their experience, strength and hope. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery.
More will be revealed! Tune in, and call in. This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we find the new "me."
We focus on the four A's of Recovery: Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers.

In 2013, Ms. Stephens became a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Maryland. Once licensed she left her tenure with Fairfax County Government and began offering mental health services to juveniles within Maryland's juvenile detention centers in Baltimore, MD.

Ka'ramuu Kush, winner of the Shadow & Act Filmmaker Challenge, is a graduate of the New School University with a BFA in Writing and the Arts, as well as an MFA in Theatre Directing / Classical Drama from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Film Directing from the AFI Conservatory. His AFI thesis film SALVATION ROAD garnered awards from DGA, FUJIFILM, THE CAUCUS FOUNDATION and numerous others before it's premiere on HBO.
She is the Founder and CEO of Faith & Knowledge in Action, LLC, which assists small churches, ministries and non-profit organizations with information/resource sharing and publicity. She has had articles published in The Philadelphia Sunday Tribune, MI/Productions.com, st8up.co.uk and wtamm.com. In June 2012 she became involved with a new book project, “Gumbo for the Soul: Faces of AIDS.” In 2013 under Faith & Knowledge in Action, LLC she has created a website that is dedicated to promoting independent Christian artists, comedians, filmmakers and animators, www.indyspotlight.net. The website is committed to promoting diversity of the global Christian creative community.

Cofounded Albany Parents for Physical Activity and Play, group advocating for mandatory daily recess in all Albany City elementary schools, in 2013. Have been closely following Albany school board since February of this year.

Christina R. Kirk is a native of Nashville, TN. After dropping out of high school due to illness and attaining a GED, Christina earned a Bachelor’s of Arts from historic Fisk University in 2001. She attained her Juris Doctorate from University of Tulsa, School of Law in December of 2003. Christina was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 2004. For the last 10 years, Christina has practiced family and special education law determined to zealously advocate for families, especially the judicial voiceless – the child. In May 2014, Christina was sworn in as the Municipal Court Judge for Langston, Oklahoma.
Christina is also dedicated to youth. She is the proud troop leader of the Divas of Girl Scouts Troop 17. She speaks all over, encouraging youth about importance of education. In dedication to her mentor, Dr. Pitts, Christina founded Prep U in 2009 to encourage and support young ladies to a life of good success. In 2013 with the help of Steve Harvey, Christina honored her mentor and shared her story of inspiration and overcoming obstacles on the Steve Harvey Show launching her to a national platform for youth education and strengthen families.

Kris Warren, a documentary filmmaker, is producing an exciting new film about how clinical Music Therapy and Neurologic Music Therapy are being used as options for treating symptoms of Parkinson's Disease and many other populations. He is also a music artist who discovered Music Therapy recently in August 2013. Kris wrote a song about how music is his therapy not knowing that Music Therapy is a viable and effective treatment option. Since that moment, he went on a journey throughout the USA interviewing experts on Music Therapy and Neurologic Music Therapy for the upcoming documentary titled Music Is My Therapy: MusicTherapyDocumentary.Com. Funds are also currently being raised on Kickstarter to film internationally.
Kris is joined by Professor Michael Thaut from Colorado State University. Dr. Thaut's internationally recognized research focuses on brain function in music, especially time information processing in the brain related to rhythmicity and biomedical applications of music to neurologic rehabilitation of cognitive and motor functions.
