Game Changers Live: 2013 NBA Finals Preview

    in Sports

On the eve of Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat, the GCL Crew will provide a preview of this intriguing match-up.
Six years ago, the Spurs capitalized on LeBron's weaknesses to capture the NBA Championship on Cleveland's home court making the Cavaliers one of three teams that won 66+ regular season games to fail to win a championship. Wednesday in his day before Finals presser, LBJ said he wants revenge for that embarrassing loss. Two of the league's most efficient offenses & two of the league's most respected front offices will tip it off Thursday evening in a match-up many have been looking forward to. We'll breakdown this match-up & make our predictions.
We'll also be joined by journalist Danelle Morton who recently published a fascinating piece for ESPN The Magazine's Taboo Issue on former NFL offensive lineman Kwame Harris who shared a candid story about being a gay man in the NFL. Morton is a fantastic storyteller who authored a book on Jenny Sanford and has written for periodicals such as the New York Times, People Magazine, and the Washington Post.
Tune in Wednesday at 7pm ET for A New View from the Sideline.

2013 NBA Finals Game 2 Recap

    in Sports

Back in Business: Miami turns up the Heat and evens the score (to say the least) defeating the visiting San Antonio Spurs 103-84 @ American Airlines Arena in Game 2 of the 2013 NBA Finals. Leading the defending world champions in points was not the best player on the planet LeBron James, it wasn't 2x champ and this year's recipient of the Humanitarian Award Dwyane Wade, nor was it 8x league All-Star Chris Bosh ( many considered to be the less heralded member of South Beach's Big 3), but instead it was Mario Chalmers pouring in 19 points in part to a rout on Sunday night. What was the biggest difference in the win? What adjustments did Miami make in their key to victory to stand victorious as opposed to Game 1's disappointing loss? What should we now expect from both teams going into San Antonio for games 3, 4, and 5? These questions answered tonight on Tate's Take!!!

2013 NBA Finals Game 1 Preview

    in Sports

LeBron James is the best player on the planet w/4 league MVP Awards. Tim Duncan is arguably the best Power Forward in NBA history adding 4 World titles, hoping to add another this season to he and the organization's lengthy resume of 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007.. Miami are the defending NBA World Champions and San Antonio are no strangers to popping champagne bottles and lighting up cigars during lockerrom celebrations on the big stage. The Spurs play a traditional half court setup offense and are extremely disciplined and well-coached overloaded with veteran leadership and an experienced ballclub led by some of the best role players in the game while the Heat are full of young guns with talent who like transition, motion offense and aren't totally dumbfounded with a roster that consists of veterans including Ray Allen, Juwan Howard, Shane Battier and Mike Miller just to name a few. Both teams include a Big 3 but only 1 can raise the Larry O'Brien trophy in a Best of 7 game series. Welcome to the 2013 NBA Finals!!!

2013 NBA Finals Game 4 Preview

    in Sports

The last time Miami was defeated (Game 1 on South Beach), they came together collectively as a unit for a return blowout in Game 2 on South Beach) to defeat the veteran Spurs. Can they do it again? If so, this time will be on the road as San Antonio welcomes the hungry defending world champs to the AT&T Center. With an ailing Tony Parker, (Spurs' starting point guard & catalyst) Miami and reigning MVP LeBron James has an opportunity to even the series @ 2 games a piece before a game 5 battle near the Alamo in its last of the season prior to a return to South Beach for games 6 and 7...but that's if Miami can make it out of the Lone Star State where LeBron James has not had the best of luck. I think it's safe to say...this series and the 2013 NBA Finals is HEATing up!!!
