Seperated again for the Labor Day Weekend, we will be doing some trivia about 1984. We may discuss the stupid ass umpires that were in Anaheim too. Terrible call. I hate the Angels! Pujols, Trout, Hamilton, fans that flash lights at the opposing players at the request of the Angels twitter feed. But I digress. What do you remember about 1984? Not George Orwell silly.
In the first of a series, Steve takes us back to the Tipping Point of modern NBA History, the 1984-85 Finals Classics between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, where Larry Bird and Magic Johnson would finally meet with the World Championship on the Line. This episode sets the table for what would become the gold standard for competition in the NBA. The subplots were just as compelling,as the League was stocked with stars such as Bernard King, Isiah Thomas, Mark Aguirre, The Doctor, Moses, Walter Davis, Sidney Moncrief, and their newest Star, Houston Center Ralph Sampson. We would see the legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ascend to the throne of the NBA's alltime scoring leader, surpassing former rival and Laker Legend Wilt Chamberlain. Behind the scenes a new force would take the reins of the league and begin to mold its future...Commissioner David Stern. But the Basketball world would finally get what it was waiting for, the winner-take-all matchup between the irresistible object and the immovable force...Bird vs. Magic.
For the month of May, Swords and Space turns to look at one of the all-time classics of not just science fiction but English literature at large. Your hosts Nicholas and Richard Wansbutter will be joined by recurring guest Marc Ratusz to discuss George Orwell's 1984. We will delve into the timeless themes of this work as they pertain to the destruction of the English language, totalitatian regimes, mind control, false flags, and more.
We will be discussing the novel as well as the two films adaptations of 1956 and 1984 film versions.
In Part Two of this series, Steve relieves the 1984 Season and NBA Playoffs featuring a round one Classic between scoring machine Bernard King's New York Knicks and "Pocket Magic", Detroit Guard Isiah Thomas, who took turns electrifying their fans with spectacular play after play. King would move on to face 1984 MVP Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics in another memorable 7 Game slugfest. Magic and the Lakers would win the West, challenged in the Conference Final by Walter Davis and his upstart Phoenix Suns...Bird and Magic would move on to the Finals, and Boston would meet Los Angeles in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1969.
The WAVE IN SPORTS debate what is the best draft class in NBA history, 1984 or 1996. It is Olajuwon, Jordan, Barkley, & Stockton vs Iverson, Allen, Bryant & Nash. We will debate the overall quality, depth and win shares of each draft. Numbers are one thing but we will also debate/discuss how the eye test would determine effectiveness in each era and in the current era. The biggest debate of them all is a 12 vs 12 best of 7 series. Its the heart and will of Jordan & Olajuwon vs Iverson & Kobe's: the brute force of Barkley, Willis & Thorpe vs the pure shooting of Peja, Allen & Nash; it will be the greatest series ever between draft classes. Check the WAVEINSPORTS Twitter feed for the WHATIFSPORTS simulations as well. Hosted by The Sports Phenomenologist Radee Hill.

Tonight we look at the portrayal of the Anti-Christ in movies and for tonight the iconic Dune based on Frank Herbert's famous Sci Fi novel that many people know nothing about its hidden codes. The original can be seen here:
In 1984 was another iconic movie Dreamscape starring young Dennis Quaid, and both this and Dune are used on the infamous Monarch psychic black ops program Theta~Θ that we will discuss.
The name Kwisatz Haderach from Frank Herbert's Dune series, translated as "the Shortening of the Way", is derived from the term kefitzat haderech.
Kefitzat Haderech (Hebrew: ???????? ?????????, Modern Q?fi?at haDére? or Kfitzat haDérech Tiberian Q?p¯î?á? hadDére?) is a Jewish Kabbalistic term that literally means "contracting the path." The word kefatz has both the meaning "to shorten" as well as "to jump".
Kefitzat Haderech refers to miraculous travel between two distant places in a brief time. It is perhaps similar to the Lung-gom-pa magical travel in Tibet, and, like the Tibetan practice, involves the use of magical or divine names. The Talmud lists three biblical stories in which this miracle occurs. In early stories of the Chasidic movement, wonder-working rabbis are ascribed the ability to reach destinations with unnatural speed.
Welcome to the future.....Or what's left of it. Government spying on innocent americans, Cops killing unarmed men who's only thought is to get away from these thugs with guns, Edward Snowden standing up to tyranny, and the high cost of apathy. Only a couple issues we will cover and more..... Will America ever go back to the way it was? Or was it ever as good as we thought? Take a walk on the wild side as we speak truth to power, and spit in the eye of this authoritarian nightmare........Viva la Revolution!
