Like many popular leading men of Hollywood’s heyday, Garner boasted all-American good looks and a winning personality that carried him through comedy and drama alike. Garner won two Emmys and racked up a total of 15 nominations. He had his greatest impact in television, first on “Maverick” in the ’50s and then in the ’70s on “The Rockford Files,” for which he won an Emmy in 1977 Variety

Garner was born James Bumgarner but changed his name for Hollywood. His relatives say the name was the only thing that changed.
“As much as people liked what they saw of him on television and in the movies, I think they’d like him even better if they would’ve known him in person,” said nephew, Terry Bumgarner. Norman Transcript

J.J., Graham, and Kyle will be joined by Michael Petrella, formerly of The Production Line and current voice behind the @TPLhockey twitter feed. Petrella will be joining us to follow up on last week's article about the Red Wings and their relationship with the local media, which attempted to find answers as to why the local mainstream coverage is fairly bland and repetetive.
We'll be taking reader questions both in the chat and at the main page mailbag post. If you have anything you want to cover, let us know and we'll ask Petrella.

Bards Logic welcomes Founder of Make Them Listen https://www.facebook.com/makethemlisten.org Paul Arnold.
He will give us updates on The National Day of Protesting Against Immigration Reform, Amnesty, and Border Surge. We will also discuss the goals of Make Them Listen and its founding. If you were at a Protest call in and tell us YOUR experience.
Paul has been an activist for 5 years. He started out by creating the FB page "March on Washington Against the Illegal Alien Invasion" Then he started protesting in public and became involved in the DC March for Jobs (July 15 2013). He helped with some of the organizing by promoting it on FB and assisting with the social media. Paul attended the rally. The rally inspired him to do more for the cause so in Oct, 2013 he founded the organization Make Them Listen. He created an event page on FB to hold a massive phone call event to encourage people to call US Republican House Representatives to oppose the looming immigration reform legislation (Amnesty). The event went so well he extended the campaign indefinitely. 2 months ago he felt the need to do more so he Created another event page "National Day of Protesting Against Illegal Immigration / Amnesty & Border Surge. The idea was to create a venue where people could protest anywhere rather than have to pay travel expenses, take time off from work, to attend a rally, thus enabling more people to protest.

We step back into the past and focus our attention on America’s Unknown Fairy Godmother: Phoebe Elizabeth Apperson Hearst .We discuss her life and her achievements and contributions she left behind to her fellow Americans to benefit from nearly 100 years later. My special guest Karin Harris highlights the footsteps of Phoebe Hearst her triumphs and her tribulations and the quiet legacy she left behind.
