    Girls Just Wanna Have Guns

    in Politics Conservative

Today if you want to empower a woman, put a gun in her hand. The confidence from learning to shoot a firearm is far superior to anything one could ever imagine and it’s genuinely better than any gender studies course taught on college campuses today.

A gun in a woman’s hand is her best chance of survival. Despite government attempts to institute greater gun control on American citizens we’ve seen a dramatic increase in gun ownership, especially among women… women who have taken it upon themselves to rely upon no one but themselves.

A team of acclaimed filmmakers are producing a movie with Regis Giles, who has the website of the same title. Girls Just Wanna Have Guns will be a 90-minute documentary motion picture, intended for all audiences that will serve as a wake-up call to all Americans.

    President Obama's Popularity Surge

    in Politics Progressive

President Obama's approval ratings are higher than they've been in a couple of years -- and still rising, a trend MOMocrat Karoli credits to an unconstrained President who doesn't have to run any more campaigns (because he won both of them)... and an economy that has finally turned around to the point where more Americans do feel better off than they did in 2009. Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills also talk about the Clown Car Express, which stopped at a little gathering in Iowa this week and the Koch Brothers plan to spend nearly $1 billion on Republican candidates in 2016. Political discussion from the progressive POV, hosted by the MOMocrats. Public Broadband in Tennessee As a Free Market Lever

    in Internet

Tennessee, along with North Carolina, has become Ground Zero in the Obama Administration’s drive to roll back state laws restricting public-owned broadband networks. But what about on the ground? How do consumers, businesses and state legislators feel about these laws?

Tennessee State Senator Janice Bowling discusses her views on why it’s time to question the value of her state’s restrictions. Sen. Bowling believes in the free market system. But she also believes from first-hand experience that the public-owned fiber network in her hometown of Tullahoma successfully meets a vital economic need that the market can’t or won’t address.

The Senator describes her constituency’s progress in economic advancement, education, healthcare since launching their own network. Some Tennessee townsfolk can look across the bridge and see citizens in cities such as Chattanooga benefitting from gigabit networks. Sen. Bowling feels this is an injustice to communities, and last year led efforts eliminate the restriction on public utilities to expand their broadband services to nearby communities.

Arrested for Following Gun Laws - Raping and killing 19 day old baby

    in Politics

In the 1st hour, David Brayton was arrested for openly carrying his firearm, in an area that he was permitted to open carry. How can that be? It happened. Gun control advocates are working to destroy the 2nd Amendment. Could it happen to you?

Remembering the Holocaust. Yes, it was real! Some people dont believe it. Know your history. Teach your children, so that it never happens again.  (Hr 2)

Obamacare Exp, Is California Governor Brown guilty of conspiracy to murder? He keeps releasing dangerous criminals, One just killed and raped a 19 DAY OLD baby his own daughter!  (Hr 3)

What else is on today's show? Well, you'll just have to tune in to hear. It's always current events and hot topics, with some crazy news stories thrown in for good measure! You'll be entertained and informed.

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

The Flatlanders: Now It's Now Again

    in Music

A group of three friends who made music in a house in Lubbock, Texas, recorded an album that wasn’t released and went their separate ways into solo careers. That group became a legend and then - twenty years later - a band. The Flatlanders - Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock - are icons in American music, with songs blending country, folk, and rock that have influenced a long list of performers, including Robert Earl Keen, the Cowboy Junkies, Ryan Bingham, Terry Allen, John Hiatt, Hayes Carll, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, and Lyle Lovett.

In The Flatlanders: Now It's Now Again, Austin author and music journalist John T. Davis traces the band’s musical journey from the house on 14th Street in Lubbock to their 2013 sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall. He explores why music was, and is, so important in Lubbock and how earlier West Texas musicians such as Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison, as well as a touring Elvis Presley, inspired the young Ely, Gilmore, and Hancock. Davis vividly recreates the Lubbock countercultural scene that brought the Flatlanders together and recounts their first year (1972–1973) as a band, during which they recorded the songs that, decades later, were released as the albums More a Legend Than a Band and The Odessa Tapes. He follows the three musicians through their solo careers and into their first decade as a (re)united band, in which they cowrote songs for the first time on the albums Now Again and Hills and Valleys and recovered their extraordinary original demo tape, lost for forty years. Many roads later, the Flatlanders are finally both a legend and a band.
