The “Disaster Awareness for Community Preparedness” Program is dedicated to discussing the previously mentioned and other pertinent topics regarding proper planning before disaster strikes. The objective of the presentation is to identify problems, offer mitigating solutions to hazards, and share specific information essential to minimizing loss of life and maximizing faster rescue or recovery in affected regions or communities. There will be subject matter experts as guests in our future shows that will assist our listening audience with the latest knowledge, skills and ability to prepare for risk reduction and hopefully ensure our family’s safety.
There are at least two things certain about any natural or man-made disaster; it does not racially discriminate and it impacts all areas of people activity, i.e., economics, education, labor, law, politics, etc. Please join us and feel free to call-in at 323-927-2913. WHEN IS TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING TOO MUCH!
Even the most nutritious foods should be CONSUMED in MODERATION!
Finding the right balance is not too difficult if you are aware that foods no matter how healthy they are are loaded with CALORIES. Even if they're QUALITY CALORIES, those CALORIES ADD UP if your portion gets too big. Rememver, if you overdo any one food, you leave less room for other foods that provide a different mix of nutrients.
AH, the benefits of foods like tomatoes, avocados and fish, but overdoing it on these healthy foods are actually detrimental.
Finding the right balance...
OLIVE OIL...lowers risks of heart disease...etc.
AVOCADO...helps to reduce bad cholesterol...etc.
Choose foods that provide a different mix...etc.
NUTS, get a different mix...etc.
LARGE FISH, TUNA...etc.

One of the biggest skills, in life, is to get along with people. John Maxwell wrote a book called "Winning with People." In the book he shares:
The Lens Principle Who you are determines what you see and the way you see it. What is around us doesn’t determine what we see: What is within us does. And who you are determines how you see others. If you are a trusting person, you will see others as trustworthy. If you are a critical person, you will see others as critical. If you are a caring person, you will see others as compassionate. The way you view others is determined by who you are. If you don’t like people, that really is a statement about you and the way you look at people. Your viewpoint is the problem. If that’s the case, don’t try to change others. Don’t even focus on others; focus on yourself. If you change yourself and become the kind of person you desire to be, you will begin to view others in a whole new light. And that will change the way you interact in all of your relationships. The Mirror Principle People unaware of who they are and what they do often damage relationships with others. The way to change that is to look in the mirror. Consider these truths that we must learn about ourselves: Self-Awareness. Human nature seems to endow people with the ability to size up everybody in the world but themselves.
The Big Picture Principle People who remain self-centered and self-serving will always have a hard time getting along with others. To help them break that pattern of living, they need to see the big picture, which requires perspective, maturity and responsibility. Here are some steps to follow: Get out of your “own little world.” Go places you have never gone, meet the kinds of people you do not know, and do the things you have not done before.
