    Today's topic is Enlightenment and Self-Love, and my guest is Director of Shara Sanctuary & Retreat, and event coordinator of the Enlighten Adelaide Festival, Sue Shaw. 


    Sue shares her experience of becoming enlightened, of the life circumstances that provided the catalysts she needed to make changes and grow as a human being. She also shares her tips for living a healthier, happier, more authentic life. 


    We then discuss how Sue came to create Enlighten Adelaide, and what it means to her to have created such a beautiful way for the community to try new things in a non-confrontational way.


    Sue is a Reiki Master, Certified Angel Intuitive, Psychosomatic Therapist, and Event Manager. She founded the Enlighten Adelaide Festival in 2011 as a celebration of health and wellbeing specialists in SA.

    Today's episode I am joined by Angie Frazer, fitness expert, pilates instructor and personal trainer, to discuss how developing core strength with Pilates can make a big difference to people with back problems.


    Indeed, today even doctors, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals are recommending Pilates for people who have back pain. So it's not just fit women in lycra doing this popular school of movement, it's anyone who wishes to improve their posture, core strength and reduce pain.


    Angie has been in the fitness industry for most of her life, and is a qualified instructor of pilates and yoga, a qualified personal trainer, has a diploma of counselling and currently teaches Year 11 and 12 students for VET.

    Rebirthing is a safe, simple, breathing technique that provides the opportunity for a client to become aware of patterns and thoughts that are formed in the past. With awareness and present time knowledge of themselves, the client is then able to release and resolve outdated thinking and behaviours and restore their lives to a more peaceful way of living.

    Mindfulness: how this mind-body therapy helps fibromyalgia

    Hi, I'm your Ways to Wellbeing radio host Miriam Henke, health psychologist and life coach, with a passion for integrative medicine and mind-body healing. Ways to Wellbeing is all about exploring ALL the different ways to wellbeing, health and happiness.


    Today's episode I am joined by Karina Moore, a fibromyalgia patient who has successfully used mind-body therapies to improve her condition and get her life back on track. Karina and I explore Mindfulness, a mind-body therapy that is getting a lot of attention and has been getting impressive results in psychological research on a range of physical and mental conditions. 


    Karina shares her story of how fibromyalgia affected her life, her exploration into mind-body therapies in an attempt to get relief from her pain and suffering, and the results these have had in many areas of her life. Indeed, so inspired by her own experiences, Karina has studied a number of mind-body therapies and will soon be offering her help and support to others.


    Mindfulness as a psychological intervention for fibromyalgia was the topic of my own research a couple of years ago, and the results were quite clear that it is indeed a very promising therapy for thousands of fibromyalgia sufferers. This research is soon to be published in the International Journal of Wellbeing.
