The son of Nashville wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett, Double J began his career as a referee, and was introduced to WWE audiences in 1993 as an obnoxious country singer, Double J draped himself in garish, light up clothing and capped off all his interviews by spelling out his full name and asking, “Ain’t I great?” His shtick could be grating, but his success was undeniable as he wrestled the Intercontinental Title away from Razor Ramon on more than one occasion.
Jarrett’s musician act unraveled when it was revealed that The Roadie (who would later gain his own fame as Road Dogg) had performed the vocals on Double J’s “hit” song “With My Baby Tonight.” The humiliation sent Jarrett running to WCW where he would act as both a Four Horseman and a Four Horseman turncoat during a year with the company.
Jarrett’s reinvention as a tough, Southern villain during WWE’s “Attitude Era” has largely been forgotten — although a partnership with Owen Hart was as entertaining as it was successful — but he had a run of luck with the persona in WCW. Double J didn’t make it back to WWE after the 2001 buyout of WCW — in fact, he was publicly fired by Mr. McMahon on the final Raw before WrestleMania X-Seven. But Jarrett continues to play an influential role in sports-entertainment as both a promoter and a persona to this day. Creating TNA Wrestling with his father Jerry and then most recently Global Force Wrestling with his wife Karen. We discuss all this and so much more tonight.

The MOMocrats had a hard time watching the videotape of the police action at that McKinney, Texas pool party this weekend - but, as Cynematic points out, the results may indicate hope for the next generation in the fight against racism. Just keep carrying those smartphones, folks, so we can continue to document abuse when we see it.
Also discussed: The lack of planning for what could happen to folks with health insurance on the Federal exchanges if the King v. Burwell decision strikes down funding, the budget problems in red states and the California "miracle," and surprisingly strong polling numbers for a fictional villain. MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss politics from a progressive POV in this Engender Media Group production.
Authors on the Air host Pam stack welcomes literary giant Nelson DeMille. From Mr. Demille: My first books were paperback originals, New York City police detective novels, thankfully all out of print and hard to find. In 1978, I published my first major novel, "By the Rivers of Babylon," which was a commercial and critical success. Since then, I've written fourteen other novels and had a good time creating my characters John Corey, Ben Tyson (played by Don Johnson in the TNT movie of "Word of Honor"), foxy Emma Whitestone, Paul Brenner (played by John Travolta in the Paramount movie of "The General's Daughter"), sexy Susan Sutter, the never-say-die CIA officer Ted Nash, and my favorite villain, Asad Khalil, a misunderstood Libyan terrorist with unresolved childhood issues. RADIANT ANGEL is his new book. After a showdown with the notorious Yemeni terrorist known as The Panther, John Corey has left the Anti-Terrorist Task Force and returned home to New York City, taking a job with the Diplomatic Surveillance Group. Although Corey's new assignment with the DSG-surveilling Russian diplomats working at the U.N. Mission-is thought to be "a quiet end," he is more than happy to be out from under the thumb of the FBI and free from the bureaucracy of office life. But Corey realizes something the U.S. government doesn't: The all-too-real threat of a newly resurgent Russia. When Vasily Petrov, a colonel in the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service posing as a diplomat with the Russian U.N. Mission, mysteriously disappears from a Russian oligarch's party in Southampton, it's up to Corey to track him down.

If you're going to be corrupt, at least do it big like a movie villain. And goodness, no one knows how to be corrupt in sports like FIFA. When the IRS calls an investigation "the World Cup of fraud" in a press conference, you know the dirty deeds were done at impressively high levels.
On a Wednesday edition of The Exchange, Sumit and Jason chat will talk about the arrests and indictments of multiple high-level FIFA officials in Switzerland and the investigation here in the United States. From the comical to the unnerving to the maddening, they'll jump into it all as the possible extradition and further arrests are still happening. They will also throw a few thoughts out on the ongoing NBA Western Conference Finals and the conference finals in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Come through The Exchange in the chat room, on Twitter (@skd_thExchange and @asportsscribe) and on the phone lines at 347-202-0247.
Even though the NBA conference finals aren't technically over, we will go ahead and preview the 2015 NBA Finals expected matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. There are many story lines surrounding this expected series including the matchup of the people's MVP in Steph Curry vs the villain everyone loves to root against in Lebron James. We will even examine the uncelebrated cities that will be hosting these games in Cleveland and Oakland and help you understand why each city needs this championship desperately plus much, much more. The new segment called Diehard Corona Crew will discuss how to raise the profile of CONCACAF soccer worldwide. We will have the Diehard Lakers Central and Diehard Dodgers Corner segments with our special panel discussing Kobe Bryant and his apparent impending retirement along with the Dodgers' massive struggles against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park so far this season. We will also react to Ray Rice being reinstated into the NFL and why that may be more problematic for the former all-pro running back than he initially realizes. This is must-hear radio at its best and ready to blow YOU away!!!
