This month's show topic is “Trial By Fire” is a documentary based on RSD/CRPS created by Celebrity Chef Charles Mattocks, as seen on CNN, Dr. Oz, The Today Show and many more mainstream media across the United States and around the world. Charles is also a best-selling author, World Diabetes Advocate and film-maker. Charles’ mother, who is the sister of the late legendary reggae legend Bob Marley, was diagnosed with RSD/CRPS about 4 years ago. Charles, who also recently lost his father from cancer, was moved to create Trial By Fire after seeing his father’s loss and wanting to help his mother who seemingly is at a point where he is in fear of losing two parents in a very short span. Last week we began our discussion on defending the Resurrection. This week, we continue our analysis.
It is one of the most singular events in history -- the Resurrection of the Lord. It would not be an exaggeration to state that EVERYTHING rests on this one thing in the Christian faith. If Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead, then He is not God. If He is not God then everything we believe falls like a giant house of cards. He would be no better than a wise man whose words and teachings we could take with a grain of salt.
Defending the resurrection is something every Christian should know how to do. After all, critics would say Jesus’ resurrection was either faked, his body stolen, or some other phenomenon to explain the empty tomb. Every year toward Easter, there's always an attack stating Jesus' did not rise from the dead. Curious theories abound as to explain away the empty tomb. Being able to refute them is essential.
With me to help us to know how to defend the resurrection is apologist Evan Minton, creator of the blog Cerebral Faith. He takes an approach that uses extra-biblical sources as well as Biblical references to defend the reliability of the Gospels record of Jesus rising from the dead. In Part Two of our discussion, we'll be talking about more sources and proofs for the resurrection of the Lord. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. About this show: I lost both parents to cancer at 22 and 27. Let’s talk about stuff that’s hard, ways you can move forward in your life and how to get back to a happier place. My intention is to connect those of us who have lost our mothers, our fathers or both parents, at any age, through the arts, life experiments, looking inward and turning pain into something positive.

Blaq Radio with Power and Purpose with Host Cherry Bomb and Black Sapphire would love to welcome Musical Artist (Hip Hop, R & B) Brooke BK Archilla. She will allow us and our listeners a glimpse into her world and music...we are honored and privileged.
I was born January 27, 1981. By the time I was 5 years old my parents had divorced. My mother needed to make a decision for what was best for the family and my father was struggling with anger issues that led into verbal and physical abuse. My mom decided it was better to be alone than to expose both of us to that situation. She requested that my dad leave and he did.
My mom was a hobby musician, playing the piano and singing frequently. She had attempted to pursue music professionally but several factors prevented that from happening. She is a lover of music and I was raised around all genres of music, taught music history and never was censored from any types of music no matter how young I was. My mom has a beautiful voice and my earliest memories of music almost always involve watching and listening to her sing and play the keys.
Raised by single mom, I was given a tremendous amount of freedom to express myself. I was encouraged to vocalize my thoughts and beliefs and it shaped the person I am today, no question...
