Twelve Steps From a Woman’s Perspective—A Deeper Wisdom, with Anne Wondra

    in Spirituality

Most people have heard of 12-step programs and have an opinion and perspective about them. Words are heard differently by women, especially women who understand or have experienced control-based patterns in language, acts, and systems. What is empowering to one, is not to another. Therefore, if we look at the original 12 steps, which were written by a man, from a woman's perspective, we may find them more empowering than they traditionally feel. On Friday, March 13, noon PT/3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. UK, Purpose Talk Radio guest Anne Wondra, of WonderSpirit Coaching, will talk about why this is and how we can empower ourselves to use those 12 steps and overcome anything that no longer serves our lives.

"I first heard of and met author Patricia Lynn Reilly at a bookstore event in 1996, shortly after my own awakening about perspective, words, control systems, and how women experience and hear words very differently," Anne says. She later read the book A Deeper Wisdom: Twelve Steps From a Woman's Perspective which she now is using as a basis for presentations and the interview on PTR.

Anne dances with life and spirit in ordinary life; she's a soul coach, writer, life coach, mystic, and muse;  a connector and creative life re-story-er, teacher, travel partner and retreat speaker.

Each Friday at 12 noon PT/3 pm ET/8 pm UK, host Cindy Freeman and her guests bring insights and ideas to help you grow in your Soul path. Cindy's guests are live their life with a purpose and are willing to share with listeners how they got there and how others might benefit from their experience. Join Cindy live or archived to explore this area. DIY for Your Soul Podcast - We’ve Got Spirit, Yes We Do…

    in Self Help

In this podcast, we delve into a subject that can be both intimidating, and downright uncomfortable for many people. We are talking about spirituality.

This conversation is not based on any specific religious beliefs, spiritual practices or dogma. It is also not meant to persuade you in one way or another when it comes to your spiritual beliefs – whether you have them or not.

It is an attempt to take a different look at spirituality, and how at least considering it, might play and important role in each of our personal development. Its aim is to help us understand our true essence.

Its purpose is to help us understand that who we really are, isn’t rooted in all of the messiness that comes with being human, and to open us up to a new resource that we can to go to, to give us some relief from all of the hardships we face. And we learn that instead of trying to solve our problems using the same energy that is creating them, we can now tap into our true selves.

Is There Power In the Steps or do the Steps Show Us Our Need For a Power?

    in Family

Step One: "We admitted "WE" were powerless over alcohol (addiction) - that our lives had become unmanagable." Who cares to admit complete defeat? Admission of powerlessness is the first step in liberation. Relation of humility to sobriety. Mental obession plus physical allergy, and spiritual malady. Why must every A.A. hit bottom? We know that little good can come to any alcoholic who joins A.A. unless he has first accepted his alcoholism (addiction) and all its consequences. Until he so humbles himself, his sobriety - if any - will be null and void. Of real happiness he will find none at all. Proved beyond doubt by an immense experience, this is one of the facts of A.A. life. The principle that we shall find no enduring strength until we first admit complete defeat is the main taproot from which our whole Society has sprung and flowered. It is a statistical fact that alcoholics/addicts almost never recover on their own resources, and this has been true ever since man has been crushing grapes.

Few people will sincerely try to practice the A.A. program unless they have hit bottom. For practicing A.A.'s remaining eleven Steps means the adoption of attitudes and actions that almost no alcoholic who is still drinking can dream of taking. Who wishes to be rigorously honest and tolerant? Who wants to confess his faults to another and make restitution for harm done? Who cares anything about a Higher Power/God let alone meditation and prayer? Who wants to sacrifice time and energy in trying to carry A.A.'s message to the next sufferer? No, the average alcoholic, self-centered in the extreme, doesn't care for this prospect - unless he has to do these things in order to stay alive himself. Join me and my special guest Monty Meyer aka the Monty'man from Take12radio.com this Fri nite Mar 27th at 9pm CT as we discuss dfferent versions of how people see the steps worked, then the proper way to work the steps

House of Prayer Bible Study for all People

    in Religion

James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

    2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Part 2 - The Chosen Ones of the Bible

    in The Bible

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the YHWH: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.Exo 34:10

And the YHWH said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. Exo 34:27

And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.Num 1:18

This on demand audio series is a part of the Executive Girlfriends Group Vignette Series. Chicke Fitzgerald interviews LaRae Quy. The original live interview was 3/27/15.

But mental toughness has little to do with physical strength or aggressive behavior; instead, it is understanding how to control the way your mind thinks. In Mental Toughness for Women Leaders, former FBI undercover and counterintelligence agent LaRae Quy shares how she created a strong mind by overcoming obstacles she encountered while at the FBI Academy, working in a male-dominated environment, and recruiting foreign spies to work for the U.S. Government. As an FBI agent, LaRae believes that while theory is nice, evidence is better when you are serious about looking for ways to achieve goals in life. She relies upon science-based research and real life experiences as she explains how you can clarify your goals, take practical steps to make them happen and connect with your ultimate purpose.

What Advantage then Hath the Ysraelites?or What Profit is There of Circumcision?

    in The Bible

What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of YHWH. Rom 3:1-2

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of YHWH; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Heb 5:12

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of YHWH; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which YHWH giveth: that YHWH in all things may be glorified through YHWH the Son, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Halleluyhwh
