Joshua Darnall is a licensed Spiritual Counselor. He has a masters degree in Health and Human Performance and a masters degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Darnall is a psychic medium who talks with his clients Spirit Guides. He has been published in journals and magazines across the country. Before creating Kumara Coaching, Darnall taught English, Health, Leadership and various physical activity courses for various universities and colleges across the country for eight years. Dr. Robinson’s guests are Dr. Susan Gardner, Assistant Dean School of Pharmacy at the University of Charleston and Reginald (Reggie) N. Nichols has been a higher education professional for 18 years as an admissions officer and academic counselor.
Bio: Susan Gardner has more than 17 years of higher education experience in academic and student affairs. She has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of communications, social science, and leadership. Past experiences include serving as a community college vice president where she oversaw student affairs and enrollment. Prior to her community college experience, Gardner served as assistant dean of students at the University of Charleston (UC). Recently she returned to UC and its School of Pharmacy where she is as an assistant professor and assistant dean for professional and student affairs. Gardner earned her BA from Oakland University, MA from Central Michigan University, and PhD from Capella University. She lives in Charleston, WV with her husband and two daughters.
Bio: Reginald (Reggie) N. Nichols has been a higher education professional for 18 years as an admissions officer and academic counselor. His previous careers have been in human services and banking. Reggie has dedicated his career to helping at risk, first generation and multicultural students map out their educational, career and financial paths.
On Sunday, January 25, 2015, Jennifer Genest, MFA will join me on Behind the Prose to discuss two of her recent publications in the genres of fiction and creative nonfiction.
We will be close reading and discussing her flash fiction story "Ways to Prepare White Perch" and her creative non-fiction essay "Her Fighting Weight - A Postpartum Experience," published in New Delta Review and The Doctor T.J. Eckleburg Review.
Genest holds and MFA from Antioch University Los Angeles and was a Peter Taylor Fellow for the 2013 Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. Currently, she is shopping her literary novel, The Mending Wall.

Smooth R&B performer Jerome Woods, born in Benton Harbor, Michigan,
is better known by his stage name Rome. He sang along with his mother’s soul
records (Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke) as well as in the local church choir. He
joined an R&B cover band named Fire & Ice while still in high school and quickly
began traveling the region performing in local clubs and talent contests as a solo
act and with the band.
Rome left Oakwood University in 1989 to pursue his dream of becoming
an R&B singer on the West Coast. He quickly began touring as a back-up
vocalist with R&B singer/songwriters Patti LaBelle and Vesta known for hits
"Once Bitten, Twice Shy", "Sweet Sweet Love", "Special," and her 1989 hit and
signature song, "Congratulations,” in addition to performing in industry
Finally, in 1996 Rome was connected with record producers Gerald
Balilergeau and Victor Meritt who sent his demo tape to RCA Records. The label
signed him immediately and he began working on his debut album, self-titled
ROME, which was released in April 1997. The album soon ascended to #30 on
the Album charts, mainly on the strength of the single, "I Belong to You
(Everytime I See Your Face)," which peaked at #6 in the United States. Rome
had two Top 40 hits from the album, and it was certified platinum.
In 2001 he returned with two albums: To The Highest and To Infinity
(Thank You); the last one is just an alternative edition of Rome2000: Thank
You. Do It followed in 2003, and three years later Sony issued The Best of
Rome has just released his new single, “Close to You” on iTunes!

While spiritual leadership involves many of the same principles as general leadership, spiritual leadership has certain distinctive qualities that must be understood and practiced if spirit-ual leaders are to be successful.
What kind of perspective must a leader have to place high value on these kinds of strategies? Jesus was not a manager. His primary role was to function as a spiritual leader.
Spiritual leaders influence more than they direct, and they inspire more than they instruct. They intuitively recognize that they are serving something—and Someone—larger than themselves and their own objectives.
