Classic Music Friday: Vanessa Campagna and Dessy diLauro great tunes and tales

    in Music

Canadian-born, LA-based Neo-Ragtime singer Dessy di Lauro describes herself as a "Feathered Frohawk Futuristic Art Deco Centric Harlem Renaissance Hep Music'' singer/songwriter.  She is also the leader and producer of a spectacular  Las Vegas Show that run at the  at the Cosmopolitan Her latest EP was released for her 2015 her world tour in parallel with Madonna’s Rebel Heart tour.

Vanessa Campagna is a young pop singer/songwriter with an accomplished past and a brilliant future who has has sung with symphonies,  shared the stage with Reba and Blake Shelton and Loretta Lynn,  and who can and does belt pop and rock with the best of them, She has been on Star Search, she wrote the music for an Oscar winning film, and has herself been the subject of a PBS documentary. And that is only the beginning of the career of a woman the press has called a vocal powerhouse,  a precociously gifted entertainer and a singer reminiscent of a  young Celine Dion.

The essential act of war is destruction, not necessarily of human lives, but of the products of human labour. War is a way of shattering to pieces, or pouring into the stratosphere, or sinking in the depths of the sea, materials which might otherwise be used to make the masses too comfortable, and hence, in the long run, too intelligent.

    – From George Orwell’s, 1984

    As Thomas Jefferson once wrote,
"...God forbid we should ever be 20. years without such a rebellion. The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure." -Thomas Jefferson Nov. 13, 1787
