Grace is form without content but brings artistic expression into the world. It enhances the quality of our lives and reminds us that to simply ‘be’ is living in grace. Tune in this week as Lisa Jones and I discuss ways grace shows up in our lives. We know grace in art, the dancer becomes the dance; the musician gives life to a musical script, the painter becomes one with the brush and canvas. In human affairs, grace is aligned with our soul’s intent—to self-express. We master this expression over time as we hone in on our true selves. Through the appreciation of ‘the form’ we take absent of ego we apprehend our own inner beauty. Somehow life is raised above the mere struggle for survival. The possession of grace, like receiving a beautiful gift can add richness to an otherwise humble life. Tonight’s show is about taking care to lend grace to the small and the deep of our lives. It is the background for whatever we manifest in on our spiritual path.
As we move forward in the struggle for justice for our fallen men, women and children. We pray that the case in Baltimore does not take the turn that was taken in the Michael Brown case. But we must remember that case was against a single WHITE MAN, this case has six assailants and 3 of them are Black and one is a Black Woman. So let's look at what Malcolm has to say in reference to this behavior by Black Police Officers. "Just as the slavemaster of that day used Tom, the house Negro, to keep the field Negroes in check, the same old slavemaster today has Negroes who are nothing but modern Uncle Toms, 20th century Uncle Toms, to keep you and me in check, keep us under control, keep us passive and peaceful and nonviolent. That’s Tom making you nonviolent. It’s like when you go to the dentist, and the man’s going to take your tooth. You’re going to fight him when he starts pulling. So he squirts some stuff in your jaw called novocaine, to make you think they’re not doing anything to you. So you sit there and ’cause you’ve got all of that novocaine in your jaw, you suffer peacefully. Blood running all down your jaw, and you don’t know what’s happening. ’Cause someone has taught you to suffer — peacefully."This is what is happening to us right now today."The white man do the same thing to you in the street, when he want [sic] to put knots on your head and take advantage of you and don’t have to be afraid of your fighting back. To keep you from fighting back, he gets these old religious Uncle Toms to teach you and me, just like novocaine, suffer peacefully. Don’t stop suffering — just suffer peacefully. As Reverend Cleage pointed out, “Let your blood flow In the streets.” This is a shame. And you know he’s a Christian preacher. If it’s a shame to him, you know what it is to me.

Born to the nobility. Married to Euphrosyne, the daughter of a nobleman; the two led a pious life in the world. One day while hunting, Conrad ordered attendants to set fire to some brush in order to flush out the game. A strong wind carried the flames to nearby fields, forests, towns and villages, and Conrad fled in panic. An innocent peasant was imprisoned, tortured into a confession and condemned to death for the fire. Remorseful, Conrad stepped forward to confess, saving the man. He then paid for the damaged property, selling nearly all he owned in order to raise the cash.
Conrad and his wife saw the hand of God in the dramatic events, and chose to give the poor everything they had left. They then separated, she to a Poor Clare monastery, he to a group of Franciscan tertiary hermits. Conrad lived such a life of piety that his reputation for holiness spread quickly. He had the gift of healing. Visitors destroyed his solitude, so he fled to a the valley of Noto, Italy in Sicily where he lived 36 years in prayer as a hermit.
Legend says that when the Bishop of Syracuse visited him, the bishop asked if Conrad had anything to offers guests. Conrad said he would check in his cell. He returned carrying newly made cakes, which the bishop accepted as a miracle. Conrad returned the bishop‘s visit, and made a general confession to him. As he arrived, he was surrounded by fluttering birds, who escorted him back to Noto.
