Interview *Special Guest* Memphis Rapper SB "Surfs Up"

    in Music

Wus good Fam! on this episode of Musick Monday we welcome Special Guest Memphis Rapper "Skool Boy" aka "@SB_Surfs Up"  who is set to become the next big thing from the South. Skool Boy’s back-to-basics approach using thoughtful subject matter over head-banging beats have launched him into the national spotlight. As one of North Memphis’ most gifted entertainers and songwriter’s, Skool Boy’s intelligence, lovable personality and energetic positivity are what set him apart from the rest.

Hailing from Memphis, TN, Skool Boy recognized his love for music at age 14. After losing a baseball tournament, the young artist took to freestyling as a coping mechanism to release tension. It was the beginning of a new passion for creating music. Known for being wise beyond his years, with an outgoing personality to match, Skool Boy became an instant favorite among his peers. He began street event promotions for Money by Da Pound during his high school years. He later garnered the attention of Hunter Promotions. As a street team promoter for the company, Skool Boy experienced his first taste of fame, rubbing shoulders with artists like Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Plies, Soulja Boy, Franchise Boyz and Roscoe Dash. Hunter Promotions later helped Skool Boy release his first song titled “Ride Swerve” at age 18. Skool Boy realized this was the life he wanted to live and the only difference between him and these popular artists, was financial support and exposure.

Wus Good Fam! this week we welcome up and coming Female Emcee @sheishiphop. With more than a decade of caressing line paper with an ink pen, Candis is solidifying her spot as one of the best to emerge out of the Big Apple. Compelled by the likes of Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and Tupac, it is her very own life experiences growing up in Brooklyn’s Farragut & Fort Greene Projects that allow Candis to demolish any microphone she encounters speaking truth whenever she breathes air into the mic.
