Most people believe and accept the fact that God is a God of love, peace, patience, mercy, kindness, forgiveness, etc,. All these qualities and more are indeed true and describe the "positive side" of God. But there's also a flip side to that same coin that describes the character and nature of God as well! God is also a God of justice, truth, vengeance, holiness AND...Here it comes...A GOD OF WRATH!
When was the last time you heard a preacher (or your own Pastor for that matter) preach on the subject of the wrath of God? If you have, did they preach with the same power, passion and conviction as they would the other positive attributes of God? Or did you discover they choose to skip over such passages of Scripture describing God's wrath, because of cowardice, trepidation and fear of man?
Well, Pastor Woods takes this subject head on in his verse by verse study of the book of Romans, Chapter 1:18-32 aptly titled, "The Wrath of God.”
TODAY God gave me an IMPORTANT WORD AND MESSAGE FOR YOU!
FOR HIS PEOPLE: MODERN DAY ISRAEL!
IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT YOU STAY TUNE AND PAY ATENTION TO WHAT I'M ABOUT TO REVEAL TONIGHT!
YOUR SALVATION DEPENDS ON IT!
DON'T FORGET THE FUTURE!
Do you feel like what the preacher says isn’t for you, but for the person sitting next to you? Or do you believe because you haven’t done any of the “bad sins”, that makes you ok with God? After all! You go to church, you have a nice job, you take care of your family, you pay your taxes, help old ladies cross the street, and on and on it goes.
Well, all these things may be good in and of themselves. But, if you believe going to Heaven is based on doing good things rather than trusting and believing in Christ for salvation alone, you could be a moral hypocrite.
Pastor Woods explains what this means in part 2 of his sermon series, taken from Romans, chapter 2:1-16, entitled, “The Wrath of God”.

Ever heard the old saying, “Do as I say, but not as I do”? In other words, people who say it, say it to those they’re in authority over. In most cases, this would be a parent/child relationship where the child would probably see the parent do something that was wrong or contradictory to what they were told NOT to do.
Unfortunately, this line of thinking has carried itself over from our homes into most of our churches and pulpits today. In other words, hypocrisy has become the new normal and most preachers fail to practice what they preach.
But, before you and I shake our heads in disgust and point our fingers at the preacher, it’ll behoove us to do some self examination of our talk as well as our walk.
Pastor Woods explains in part 3 of his series, “The Wrath of God”, taken from Romans chapter 2 verses 17 through 29.

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, "Thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, 'If you will indeed go out to the officers of the king of Babylon, then you will live, this city will not be burned with fire, and you and your household will survive. 'But if you will not go out to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city will be given over to the hand of the Chaldeans; and they will burn it with fire, and you yourself will not escape from their hand.'" Jeremiah 38:17-18 NASB

Notice what Paul says about this wrath:
"Is being revealed from heaven"--to understand this we must see the parallelism in the language and structure between verse 17 and 18. He said in verse 17 that God's righteousness is being revealed in the Gospel, so in verse 18 we see that God's wrath is also being revealed in the Gospel. Paul's Gospel reveals God's covenant faithfulness, which involves the announcement that God will judge the covenant breakers, and that the agent of this divine judgment is Jesus. Notice what Paul says in Acts 17:
because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead." Acts 17:31 NASB
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TRIBULATION OF SATAN AND THE JUDGEMENT OR WRATH OF GOD?
THE TRIBULATION IS COMING...................
THE WRATH IS COMING................
The Great Tribulation is the last half of the Tribulation period, three and one-half years in length. It is distinguished from the Tribulation period because the Beast, or Antichrist, will be revealed, and the wrath of God will greatly intensify during this time. Thus, it is important at this point to emphasize that the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation are not synonymous terms. Within eschatology (the study of future things), the Tribulation refers to the full seven-year period while the “Great Tribulation” refers to the second half of the Tribulation.
But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
HOW DO WE PROTECT OUR SELVES FROM BOTH.....................
TRIBULATION AND WRATH?
redemption or replacement,
justification or rejection,
reconciliation or punishment

The Cup of God’s Wrath
15 This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from my hand this cup filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I sendyou drink it. 16 When they drink it, they will stagger and go mad because of the sword I will send among them.” Jeremiah 25
Isaiah 29:9 Be stunned and amazed,
blind yourselves and be sightless;
be drunk, but not from wine,
stagger, but not from beer.
10 The Lord has brought over you a deep sleep:
He has sealed your eyes (the prophets);
he has covered your heads (the seers).
11 For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I can’t; it is sealed.” 12 Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I don’t know how to read.”

[ God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness ] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath?
5 For this you know,[a] that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
As this tsunami has unfolded, I was reminded of the passage we have taken as our text this evening. This is a passage that speaks about events during the Tribulation period. It is a warning about a tsunami that is coming upon this earth. Not a tsunami of water, but a tsunami of the wrath of God. I would like to look into these verses for a few minutes this evening and preach on the subject Warning: A Tsunami Is Coming. I believe this passage has something to say to the church this evening. I also think it stands as a warning to those who do not know the Lord. It is a reminder to us all that the end is coming and that people had better be ready when it does. It is also a challenge to the church to get busy, for we do not have many days left in which to tell a lost world about our wonderful Savior. Let’s look at the thought Warning: A Tsunami Is Coming.
Join Fire & Grace Church LIVE @11:00 AM CST as we continue with part 3 of a prophetic warning for San Francisco and America. We will take another look at the wrath of God and why it is justified. The good news is that whosoever will can turn to God and find mercy and forgiveness through the Son of God (God in the flesh) Jesus Christ. But for many in this world, time is running out. Some are receiving their final warnings and opportunities to repent and get right with God. To listen by phone call 347-884-8566
