Ophiolatreia: The Worship of the Serpent (Part One)

    in Spirituality

The Serpent has been worshipped by cultures throughout history.  We ask why?  The Serpent is that great Dragon, Satan, and that fallen angel, which demands worship from the human race in order to deceive those doomed for ultimate spiritual destruction.  In this multipart series, Paul & Linda trace Serpent Worship throughout the world and history to show you "what has been is what is now."  Many intelligent men and women baptized into the "Mysteries" have recognized this worship of the Serpent, and have discussed it for millenniums.  As people aimlessly live their lives on this planet unaware of the darker deeper forces that control everything not of holiness, they assist in the culmination of the revelation of that final and ultimate Serpent on the world scene, which will take the vast majority of humankind with it to the Lake of Fire.

The Serpent (The Covenant & the Cross #37)

    in Religion

Today's passage of Scripture is Genesis 3:14-15 which reads: "And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

Today's quote about the Bible is from James McCosh. He said: "The book to read is not the one which thinks for you, but the one which makes you think. No book in the world equals the Bible for that."

Our topic for today is titled: "The Serpent" from the book, "The Promise and the Blessing" by Dr. Michael A. Harbin.

In our discussions about the Fall, we have to this point neglected the serpent. Any way we look at it, this is a difficult issue. Exactly what creature is involved? Why did Eve not express surprise when it spoke? How is Satan related to it? With regard to these and other questions, the biblical writer has not seen fit to give us the information. At the end of the Bible, however, we are given some insight when Revelation 12:9 identifies Satan as the serpent who deceives.

Our concern at this point is that the serpent is also cursed, but there is an interesting detail here that we must note and keep in mind. God gives an anticipation of a later judgment on the serpent in the form of the first prophecy of a coming redeemer or messiah. In Genesis 3:15, God tells the serpent, "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." This prophecy is known as the protoevangelium, meaning, "the first [announcement of the] gospel." The immediate manifestation of this prediction is a perpetual battle between good and evil in this world. ...

In the terrifying night of past ages, the sublime and austere Hierophants of the Great Mysteries were the zealous guardians of the Great Arcanum. The great priests had sworn silence, and the Key of the Arch of Science was hidden from the eyes of the people. Sexual Magic was only known and practiced by the great priests. The wisdom of the Serpent is the basis of the Great Mysteries. This was cultivated in theSchools of Mysteries of Egypt, Greece, Rome, India, Persia, Troy, Aztec Mexico, Inca Peru, etc., etc.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 1 Cor 6 19

It was forbidden to disclose the secret ofSexual Magic. This is the Great Arcanum. Those unfortunate ones who divulged the unspeakable secret were condemned to death. They were taken to a paved courtyard, and before an ancient wall covered with crocodile skins and undecipherable hieroglyphs, they were beheaded, their hearts were torn out and their cursed ashes were cast to the four winds.

Ophiolatreia: Ancient Origins of Serpent Worship (Part Two)

    in Spirituality

Most ancient nations admitted the serpent into their religion either as a symbol of divinity, charm, oracle, or as a god. The prototype of this idolatry certainly goes back to the serpent in the Garden of Eden. But it may go back even further to the time of the Anunnaki, in which the fallen god Enki genetically modified his Primitive Worker earth creature. "To earth from heaven they came" was the Anunnaki, and they were the fallen ones and originators of the Serpent Tribe ideology and religion we find throughout history and throughout most cultures.

Ophiolatreia: Egyptian Serpent Gnosis & Power (Part Three)

    in Spirituality

Only second to ancient Babylon was Egypt in idolatry. Her people no matter where they settled, brought with them a corruption of truth, which the established pagan priesthood helped assume a form of consistency and allurement. The worship of the serpent was an important and conspicuous part of her idolatry. The serpent entered into the Egyptian religion under all his characters, of an Emblem of Divinity, a Charm, an Oracle, and as a God. When this serpent worship became intertwined with early Christianity, Gnostic thought and Gnostic texts were born, once again producing a corruption of truth. However, we have the Believer's assurance contained in our Scriptures that we have POWER over all the serpents and their poison. It is this fact that the Serpent and his offspring desire to dilute, confuse, and destroy from true Biblical Christianity.
