Fully experiencing the meaning of The Lord's Prayer

    in Religion

The Best is Yet to Come Radio Show has a special guest today, Jim Slater, an Elder of New Life Beginnings Church and the founder of Men in Training Ministries. Jim shares today about prayer, and specifically The Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6. We are directed in the scripture to pray and pray always. Many of us learned The Lord's Prayer as children and it is hoped in this study the prayer will take on greater meaning for you. The Lord's Prayer was originally given to the disciples after they had watched Jesus praying and asked him to teach them how to pray. It is an integral part of every Christian's prayer life and should take on new meaning for you each and every time you pray it.

The great recovery David experienced in his life

    in Religion

Pastor Brad Morgan of New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison, TX begins speaking from 1 Samuel 30, about the great recovery David experienced in his life. David had been seeking the promise that God had for him for 13 years from the age of 17. In  Samuel 30 it says, "Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire". Ziklag means winding road. Sometimes God takes us on a winding road.  The scripture continues saying, "but God was with him."

Pastor Brad shares about how people's lives get changed in the third day. He recounts several scriptural instances of this. Both judgment and reward can come on the third day.

1 Samual 1:2 continues, "and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep."

David goes through grief and betrayal, and ultimately strenghthened himself through the Lord his God. David then went to Abiathar the priest, a spiritual leader for guidance. David was careful to ask God for guidance. God answered, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Letting go of strongholds and renewing your mind

    in Religion

The Best is Yet to Come Radio Show has a special guest today, Minister Tara Amis, a member of New Life Beginnings Church. Tara shares on renewing your mind. Renewing your mind is a huge process that takes time and effort. In Romans 12:1-2 Paul wrote, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Tara shares about the "strongholds" in our lives and their effect on our lives. Tara says her definition of a stronghold is the walls that we build around our lives to protect ourselves, but often are areas that we haven't let God into in our lives. You have to understand who you are in Christ to let go of your strongholds.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord. Let me take this opportunity to welcome you all to my Internet Radio Talk show – Putting God First. The church I pastor is an International church that is on fire for the Lord. As you can see from our name – SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES INC– we put God first in everything we do and he has been faithful to His Word. In Acts 4: 31-33, we see the early church on fire as they worshipped and enjoyed the presence of God in their midst. If the church were truly on fire we wouldn’t announce it in the bulletin or by way of a sermon but, that folks will come banging on church doors. The doors of churches will remain open 24/7 just as some stores/shops are and, people will come in and never leave the same way they came because they are Putting God First. But I’m happy and blessed that you will be a part of this Radio Talk Show and my prayer for you is that you will always put God first in everything you do. Pastor Edward Alinyoh (Pastor Eddie)

God's suddenly is going to cause you to be who God has called you to be

    in Religion

Pastor Brad Morgan of New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison, TX speaks more about God's suddenlies. Suddenlies come many times when there is a completion of a season. This very thing happened in Acts 2, on the day of Pentecost. When the Church was birthed, something happened suddenly. Similarly, David was annointed to be king suddenly. A suddenly causes a new beginning to come into your life.

To come to terms with what God is doing in our life we have to generate a line of thinking that puts us in line with what God was doing. Our thinking has to be elevated. To demonstrate this Pastor Brad recounts the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17.  This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. A suddenly is this day. God's suddenly is going to cause you to be who God has called you to be.

The Love of God -- we need to let God love us more

    in Religion

The Best is Yet to Come Radio Show has a special guest today, Minister Tara Amis, a member of New Life Beginnings Church. Tara shares on the love of God.  As believers we go through things and when we do, we really realize the love of God. It is these times that we sift through our faith. When you do that you find out what you believe in. She begins by speaking about David in 1 Daniel 13:14 where it says, "but now your kingdom will not continue the Lord has sought out David, a man after His own heart." What made David a man after God's own heart? We want God to feel this way about us, that we are a "man after God's own heart."

Do you know God? Do you have the personal revelation, that joy on the inside of you that let's you know that God loved you? We need to let God love us more, then we can begin to love other people more. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whoemsoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life." Eternal life is to know and understand God.

We need to be able to sit down with the Lord and let him love on us. We have to be in a place where we can receive. Apostle Paul says, "where sin abounds, much more grace abounds. Sit back and let God love on you. Jesus came to give, as Christians we need to learn how to receive. It is not up to you, it is God inside of you that can have you do what you have been called to do. In our weakness, He is made strong.
