Salt is one of those things that everyone just “knows” is unhealthy… kind of like saturated fat. The concept that salt is bad for you and contributes to heart disease and hypertension is an idea that has become more or less cemented as dogma in the West. But where did this idea come from? And more importantly, is it true?
What's interesting is that in reality science has failed time and time again to prove this idea. In fact, quite the opposite is now coming to light.
Today, Dr. Budweiser, founder of Weiser Living, will explore the true Myths and Facts surrounding this essential-for-life substance and lay all your salty questions to rest!
He will cover:
A Brief History Of Salt
DASH - The ONE & ONLY Study That Made Salt A Villain
Sodium – What Is It & Why Should You Care?
What about Iodine?
White Gold To White Poison
Refined Iodized Table Salt
Salt & Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – Is It REALLY Linked to Heart Disease & Stroke?
Hidden Salt In Processed Foods
Natural Unrefined Salt – An Essential Nutrient For Life!
True Dangers Of Reduced Salt Intake
Sole - What Is It & Why Should You Take It?
So be sure to shake things a little up by tuning into another 30 minutes of salty nuggets with Dr. Budweiser!

According to Cancer Research UK, 1 in 3 of people will develop cancer of some sort in their lifetime. The cause of most diseases including cancer remains unknown. Treatment is therefore of the symptoms of diseases rather than the causes of the disease itself. Unsurprising, 75% of all visits to the doctor involve symptoms of illness which are based on excessive or chronic stress. Whilst medication helps in the short term, current scientific research indicates that unless chronic stress is addressed in a timely manner, further diseases are inevitably created. Ignoring the psychosocial and emotional aspects that are impacted on the individuals life produce an ever revolving cycle of mental instability that impacts on the person's ability to function within the normal realms of well-being. Therefore the need to take responsibility for our health and well-being has never been so important. In this segment of The NLP View Radio Show host, Donna Blinston, RGN talks to Marion Dias, about her best-selling book Why Did the Cancer Disappear: Become Free From Cancer & Promote Health.

Could this be the recipe for deflating the muffin top? A recent study compared three groups—those who ate a reduced-carbohydrate diet, those who combined the diet with strength training and those who combined the diet and strength-training with cardio workouts—and found that a three-tier approach was the most effective strategy to decrease abdominal fat. It's important to note that the exercises you choose and the effort you put into them really matter, says Marta Montenegro, a certified strength and conditioning coach who teaches exercise physiology at Florida International University. Instead of ho-hum treadmill-trotting and sit-ups, she recommends high-intensity workouts, which have been shown to be more effective at reducing the belly fat you can pinch with your hand, as well as the visceral fat that pads internal organs (which has been linked to metabolic disturbances and increased risk for cardiovascular disease and type-2 diabetes).
Montenegro put together this hard-core high-intensity workout based on the latest research, her work with clients and her own experience (that's her in the photos; those abs don't lie).

In our continuing series in coordination with Citizens Commission on Human Rights, tonight we are pleased to have Dr. Jeffrey A. Schaler as our guest to discuss the myth of mental illness.
Jeffrey A. Schaler, PhD, a psychologist in Maryland, has written extensively on addiction and social policy as well as having taught thousands of undergraduate and graduate students about the myth of mental illness over the past 22 years at American University in Washington, D.C., Johns Hopkins University, and community colleges in Maryland and Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. He is a well known and popular international speaker. A close friend and colleague for many years of the late professor emeritus of psychiatry Thomas Szasz, Professor Schaler is currently working on his sixth and seventh books, both focused on why behavior can never be a disease. His book entitled Addiction Is a Choice was the centerpiece of a John Stossel ABC News 20/20 special and his book entitled Peter Singer Under: The Moral Iconoclast Faces His Critics won the American Library Association book of the year in Philosophy in 2010. He has three granddaughters and he lives with "Scout," his six month old German Shepherd, in Howard County, Maryland. His website is at www.schaler.net .

The businnes of Policing.
We will be taking about the case in Kanas where a 11-Year-Old Kansas Boy was taken away from her mom due to Her Use of Cannabis Oil to Treat Crohn’s Disease.
Have we really been so domianted by the government that the police now can enter our homes without a warrant and take our kids?
What the government does not want you to know is that the federal government has perverse economic inecntives for the states to get more people processed through the social services network as it relates to : restraining orders, child welfare and child portective services.
The policing of people is a business and not a good one for our democracy.
We will disucss these issues with out guest Shelley Albert. She is an attorney and for five years, Shelley served as an Assistant District Attorney under the legendary Robert M. Morgenthau. Morgenthau and his team at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office were known an equal-opportunity prosecutors, sending record numbers of white-collar criminals, slumlords, murderers, drug dealers, stock manipulators, sex-offenders, street thugs, and Mafia dons to prison.
Shelley is known nationally, thanks in part to her guest appearances on CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News and other networks. A member of Mensa, Shelley mentors young attorneys through the Trial Lawyers Association and has provided pro bono assistance to Legal Services of New Jersey.

The 2015 Science and Medicine Award was presented to Dr. Michael Gottlieb, a physician and immunologist best known for his identification of AIDS as a new disease with the first diagnoses in June 1981. Gottlieb was famously Rock Hudson’s doctor, following the actor’s AIDS diagnosis until his death in 1985, as well as physician to the namesake of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which shares with Desert AIDS Project the distinction of being named a “Top 20 HIV/AIDS Charity” for both 2013 and 2014.
Nicholas Snow (with guest co-host Kristin Johnson) is thrilled to present a seven-part comprehensive series documenting the 2015 Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards held February 9th at the Palm Springs Convention Center, raising $1.3 million for direct client services at Desert AIDS Project. Special thanks to the gala producer Momentous Events for helping us secure the audio.
I hope all is going well where you live. Thank you for listening to this podcast. Our scheduled show for April 27th will not broadcast as I will be enroute to be with friends and their son who calls me his "Aunt." He is 12 and facing open heart surgery. The unraveling of their lives occurred at a track meet. Similar to many other athletes who unknowingly have a congenital heart disease, the day started well until he was on the ground, blacked out. Thankfully, he is one who will be able to mount a surgeon's table.
The long and short of the matter is that life happens and I am accommodating it. The show will pause for several weeks with plans to resume on Monday, May 18th at 3:30, PST. I look forward to "seeing" you then. Thanks for listening and remember to LIVE WELL!
