    Interview with Doug Bruce

    Texas-born singer/songwriter DOUG BRUCE now calls Australia home. Doug’s career in country music has seen him move from behind the drums to front of stage, impressing die-hard country fans and new converts alike with his rich voice and natural affinity for the stone cold country sound. With the release of his first full album called All I Need, Doug was awarded 2009 Best Male Vocalist in the well regarded Tamworth Independent Artists Recognition Awards (TIARAs). His next album A Good Place was released in 2010. The album received critical praise and garnered a bunch of industry awards. The song Coffey Road earned Doug his first #1 in Australia. He's just released a brand new album called Made That Way which he'll discuss on the show.

    Emma Slater LIVE on Girlfriends Talk Radio with Dabney

    Get your dancing shoes on as we are joined by Emma Slater Troupe Dancer and Choreographer on ABC’s smashing hit Dancing With the Stars.  Along with her amazingly talented boyfriend Sasha Farber.
    Emma is from Tamworth, a medieval town in the center of England.  She started dancing at the age of five when she joined a local stage school.  She was immediately hooked on theatre and took part in a number of local productions, George Michael music video Round Here filmed in London, featured in the Universal Pictures movie Mamma Mia.
    In early 2012, Emma joined ABC’s prime time show Dancing with the Stars Season 14 - dancing in the Troupe and Choreographing, Emma appeared on all episodes in season 14 including the final.  In total Emma danced 15 numbers for the hit TV show.

    Texas-born singer/songwriter Doug Bruce now resides in Bendigo, Australia. He's been impressing die-hard country fans and new converts alike with his rich voice and natural affinity for the southern country sound. Doug was awarded 2009 Best Male Vocalist in the well regarded Tamworth Independent Artists Recognition Awards (TIARAs). His music career began almost 20 years ago, performing primarily as a drummer and backing vocalist for numerous bands in Texas. He also spent time in Nashville performing and doing studio session work. Doug has been described as having “a simply awesome talent to wring emotion from words and music” (Deborah Minter, Capital News, December 2008). This talented singer/songwriter is making his second visit to In The Country - this time to talk about his brand new album called "A Good Place".     With the release of his first full album, All I Need, Doug has been awarded 2009 Best Male Vocalist in
    the well regarded Tamworth Independent Artists Recognition Awards (TIARAs). Doug also took out
    Best Contemporary Song (for 'I Know About Lonesome') in the Professional section of the Tamworth
    Songwriters’ Association (TSA) National Songwriting Competition. He was also a top five finalist in the
    Traditional section (for 'Just Three Minutes'). Doug was also a finalist in all six of his nominated
    categories of the prestigious Victorian & National Country Music Awards 2009, taking out Victorian
    Male Vocalist, Victorian Album of the Year and the Smoky Dawson Best Independent Release (for
    the album) in the National section. He has also recently been inducted into the South Australia
    Country Music Hall of Fame, alongside the likes of Slim Dusty and Kasey Chambers.
