Washington Nationals' right-hander Stephen Strasburg struck out nine batters in seven innings of work and the Nats beat the St. Louis Cardinals in Busch Stadium III for just the fourth time in the last 21 games in the Cardinals' home. Washington snapped a three-game losing streak with the win and improved to 15-7 on the year. Jonathan Papelbon earned save No. 8 of 2016. 5-4 final in St. Louis. Dusty Baker's boys got the job done in Missouri.
The St. Louis Blues coughed up a 3-1 lead in Game 6 and thus coughed up a 3-1 series lead against the Chicago Blackhawks.
What happens in Game 7 at Scottrade?
Why isn't Vladimir Tarasenko playing more?
Brian Elliott starts Game 7 folks. Shut up.
Can the Blues shut down the Hawks big line?
Corey Crawford standing taller than Elliott in Game 7?
The St. Louis Cardinals won 100 games last year with a team that dealt with a ton of injuries. Yet, when it came to the playoffs the Cards couldn't stop the momeuntum of the Chicago Cubs. Now that 2016 is here, can the Cards keep the division away from Chicago and Pittsburgh? I talk about it with Steven McNeil of Red Bird Rants.

Daniel Murphy hit an RBI single and Jayson Werth hit a three-run blast in the first as the Washington Nationals jumped out to an early 4-0 lead over Jaime Garcia and the St. Louis Cardinals. Nats' starter Joe Ross gave up just one run in six innings of work in the 6-1 win as Washington won the first series in St. Louis since all the way back in 2007. One more with the Cards tomorrow with Max Scherzer on the mound in Busch Stadium.
Washington Nationals' right-hander Max Scherzer returned to form and the Nats' bats came to life in the sixth and seventh innings against St. Louis Cardinals' starter Carlos Martinez as the Nationals swept the three-game set in Busch Stadium with a 6-1 win. It was the first sweep in the Nationals' franchise history (2005-present) and the first sweep in overall franchise history since the Montreal Expos swept the Cards thirty years again in 1986. 30 years? And Bryce Harper was hitless in the series... Nationals now 17-7.

“The history of our families is entwined just as a piece of cloth is woven. Our parents and fore parents were all bound together by birth families and marriage into others, but we are all bound by bloodlines that make us all related to one another. These families all lived in towns and communities that surround each other. Some of the town names are Warren, Banks, Pleasant Hill, Gravel Ridge, Childs, Green Chapel, Hard Shell, Jersey, Hermitage, Johnsville, Morobay, Palestine, Mt. Olive, Vicks, Hampton, and Harrell. Some of the names of families who lived in those communities are Hampton, Davis, Belin, Hall, Tatum, Johnson, Lovett, Strong, Wilson, Pickett, Webbs, Phifer, Fall, Green, Momon, Trotter, Newton, Wheeler, Jones, Henry, Harmon, Childs, Woods, Boswells, and Gardner.“ Kathleen Hampton-Lee (from her Histories of Families 1800-1992 in the 1992 Milwaukee, WI Family Reunion)
