    in Music

Graspmatologist Dr. Yates, creator of Graspmatix, introduces new and exciting ways to comprehend math.  He includes teachings on mathematical topics such as numerical codes, the origin and composition of symbolical numbers (how the original inscriptional symbol was used to create numbers), and many other interesting subjects.  Question? If zero is a number, then why are some students taught to count from the number one instead of zero?  These and other areas of interest are addressed in the Graspmatix learning system, to help individuals gain more insight into science of mathematics.

Graspmatix (GMX) is the comprehension of mental math based on four principles: Perception, Reasoning, Rhythm, and Restoration.  This new and easy approach to learning math is also intended to help overcome the difficulty, apprehension and phobia that many individuals experience when learning mathematics.

Dr. Yates has introduced GMX to people of the Virgin Islands, Antigua, Barbados, St. Kitts, Nevis, St.Lucia, Dominica, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and several states in America.  Where it was enthusiastically welcomed, best of all, the Graspmatix method of learning helps to make addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fraction, decimals and other mathematical procedures simple and fun.

    in Radio

Fresh out the federal pen after serving a bid for armed robbery, Anthony Padmore is whisked to the beautiful island of Anguilla as a reward for keeping his mouth shut. His adoptive brothers have prepared a week of celebration fit for King Solomon himself, but while frolicking on the beach, basking in his newfound freedom, he runs into the stunning Soldada Andrews…
Soldada Andrews is fresh out of Law School with an exciting position as an Assistant District Attorney. She has treated herself with a trip to Anguilla to celebrate her achievement. While walking on the beach, she runs into the mesmerizing Anthony Padmore. Her attraction to him is immediate, but she senses something lurking beneath the surface that suggests he would be better off left alone. However, he is too irresistible, so she opts to engage in an island fling. Unfortunately, a passion-filled night boils over into a morning filled with unexpectant emotions and a list of questions better left unanswered, as it is revealed they reside in the same city.
Back in the States, Soldada and Anthony discover their lives are inextricably entwined, for her first assignment as an Assistant District Attorney is to bring down Anthony and the whole Padmore clan. The Padmores, led by the sinister, charismatic, Roland Padmore, are involved in high-level, white-collar crime where extortion, racketeering, and murder are the rules of business. Soon, Anthony and Soldada must answer some tough questions, foremost: What to do when you find yourself in a situation where betrayal is the only remedy for survival?
Forbidden is the first installment in Gangsterotica, an exciting new series of explosive novels from underground sensation, Shaun Sinclair. Gangsterotica tells the story of what goes on when the unspoken code of street life clashes head-on with love and adversity. What happens next? You’ll only find the answer in Forbidden!

Spiritual View - Asking God for Wisdom

    in Religion

1 Kings 3:7-13, "Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice,  I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings."

    OUTSIDE, INSIDE A POLICE STATE

    in Politics

    Program Summary: April 25, 2015

@Naomi_Fowler produces for the Tax Justice Network the monthly "Taxcast."

In the April 2015 Taxcast: How just are our tax systems towards women? Plus: one of the USA's biggest corporations (and tax avoiders) is repatriating billions from offshore and re-focusing on good old manufacturing again, and remember how the UK Prime Minister was 'leading the world' in transparency measures not so long ago? We discuss the letter a former Cayman Islands lobbyist and Conservative peer wrote to reassure the tax haven that it was an empty gesture to distract from the proposed Financial Transaction Tax.

Then from Great Speeches and Interviews, Sacramento, CA "Inside the Police State."

Police officer Adrian Schoolcraft secretly recorded his supervisors telling officers to manipulate crime statistics and make illegal arrests from 2008 to 2009. The Village Voice series that broke Schoolcraft's story was written by Graham Rayman. Ira Glass narrates the story. "Police Officer Schoolcraft, who worked in the relatively high-crime 81st precinct in Brooklyn, was not a happy camper. Some might call him a malcontent.
In 2009, he began to secretly tape-record precinct roll calls at which commanding officers ordered cops like himself to refuse to take robbery victims’ crime complaints. Cops were also ordered to downgrade felonies — which are serious crimes — to less serious misdemeanors so that the precinct would appear safer than it actually was. Schoolcraft’s secret tape recordings might well have been ignored, had not the police department then done something shocking.  On Oct. 31, 2009, Schoolcraft left his tour early, saying he felt sick, and returned to his apartment in Queens. What happened next tells us much about "the police state."

    Remembering Carnival Traditions

    in Culture

The first carnival was staged in 1912 during the final years of Danish occupation and lapsed during World War I. Revived in 1952, carnival has become the second largest festival in the Caribbean.

A month-long series of dazzling pageants and talent shows is held to choose royalty to rein over the festival. Fun events such as a boat race, Greased Pig Contest and Toddlers Derby entertain everyone at the festivities.

A series of elimination contests to crown top performers are called Calypso Tents. Calypsonions offer satirical commentary on the state of the islands, oftentimes mocking the shenanigans of politicians. Other popular events held during Carnival is j'ouvert, a morning jump up, a food fair presenting the islands’ best traditional eats and a competition to crown the King and Queen of the parade troupes.
