The Sixties, Seventies and Eighties were low points in the ongoing saga of drugs infiltrating our neighborhoods. In the suburbs as well as in the hood Angel Dust, Heroin and Crack destroyed many families and generations of our children have been neglected. We owe the youth an apology, because their reckless behavior i.e. The "N" word and no respect for elders is a direct result of our broken homes and our addictions. We can't heal until we admit we have a problem.
Join the Zaiyahs House Family as we try to heal the world... One laugh at a time.

Join us this week as we welcome pop music singer songwriter, Bean. Dallas-born, Nashville-raised, and Los Angeles-based, Noelle Bean began going by the surname “Bean” after her high school music teacher chose to address the budding musician by the one word alone. Now, you’re going to remember Bean after only one listen. When asked to describe her music:“It’s pop with a twist,” she smiles. “My influences and inspirations span everything from Motown to sixties and seventies classics like The Beatles, The Bee Gees, The Temptations, and The Jackson Five. I’m traveling down my own lane though.” In 2012, she was handpicked as 1 of 25 artists in the Macy’s and iHeartRadio “Rising Star” campaign, while both Pandora and iTunes created a “Bean Radio” channel. Her music appeared everywhere from OK TV to spots for Mitsubishi and Coca Cola’s Fantasy Soccer Camp. Meanwhile, she became a live draw opening for the likes of Colbie Caillat, Megan & Liz, Hot Chelle Rae, and Austin Mahone as well as giving a show-stopping set at Bonnaroo 2013. Everything has merely led up to the release of her two 2014 digital mini-albums — her new EP "Rollercoaster" which is available now, and one in the fall culminating in a physical special edition with extra tracks for the holidays. We will talk to Bean about her upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at her music, feature her latest songs, and ask her to share her message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Bean at http://beanmusic.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with with Bean during the show (718) 766-4193 As always we will give shout outs to our deployed military listeners. Be sure to join us, Sunday 9/14/2014 at 4 PM EDT! Our message to the troops....WE do what we do, because YOU do what you do.

Old school style of the dating game from the sixties. The men will ask the ladies questions to win a day or night out with her or a phone conversation and the women will do the same. Only single ladies and men can participate. This is real and we are putting people together to match a great love connection.
Russell Means, AIM Co-founder Speaks on Matriarchy
Russell Means has lived a life like few others in this century - revered for his selfless accomplishments and remarkable bravery. He was born into a society and guided by way of life that gently denies the self in order to promote the survival and betterment of family and community. His culture is driven by tradition, which at once links the past to the present.
The L.A. Times has called him the most famous American Indian since Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. His indomitable sense of pride and leadership has become embedded in our national character. Today, his path has brought him to Hollywood, thus enabling him to use different means to communicate his vital truths. Through the power of media, his vision is to create peaceful and positive images celebrating the magic and mystery of his American Indian heritage. In contemplating the fundamental issues about the world in which we live, he is committed to educating all people about our most crucial battle - the preservation of the earth.
Thirty years ago, reflecting the consciousness of the sixties, he captured national attention when he led the 71-day armed takeover on the sacred grounds of Wounded Knee, a tiny hamlet in the heart of South Dakota's Pine Ridge Reservation. Means joined "The Longest Walk" in 1978 to protest a new tide of anti-Indian legislation including the forced sterilization of Indian women. Following the walk, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution saying that national policy was to protect the rights of Indians, to believe, express and exercise their traditional religions, including but not limited to access to sites, use and possession of sacred objects, and the freedom to worship through ceremonials and traditional rites.
At the end of his celebrated life, with the same passionate determination, he directed his energy towards the entertainment industry.
Priya Magic of Women in Full Bloom engages in lively honest conversations with women from around the country and differnt walks of life about the in's and out's of life for us women in the transition years after menopause from 55-65.
There's much talk these days about women over 50! Have you heard about or even felt the over fifty Invisible Factor? Many of us begin to get the feeling that as we step into that over 50 age we become invisible. Lumping all women over fifty into one category is another way of the culture making us invisible.
Over fifty is a vast realm that we as women know has many nuances that are in and of themselves and entire world. The passage from the end of menopause into the early sixties is a very unique one and deserves much care and attention as any other phase of life. Just as the passage of 40-50 is unique, 50-60, 60-70, and 70-80 and on are all distinct journeys. It is time to step out of the realm of the invisible and be seen and heard for these distinctions!
Hear what your sisters are going through. Laugh, Cry, and feel the support of honest and vulnerable sharing from other real women who are facing the challenges of Relationship, Work, Family and Passions as we all move into being 'Older" women! Let's do it together and have fun with it by sharing what were are going through together.
Priya's style is engaging, intimate and offers you chance to let down and get real!
In the early sixties, Rock and Roll bands were emerging all over the planet. A common misconception is that all of these bands were influenced by the blues. Well, this is true to a degree, but some of the two biggest ones were influenced heavilyby Doo Wop. Listen tonight as I break down the genre that spawned two of the biggest bands...The Beach Boys and The Four Seasons.
Also, early in the program we discuss a local talent, Buffalo Stack.
Finally, I provide a review from my latest trip to Bethel Woods
