    Lugnuts and Horsepower

    in Sports

The new year has brought frigid temperatures across the country.  Not exactly great weather for racing, but the Lugnuts and Horsepower crew are hoping to warm up the night by talking about the thing they get excited about the most.

Patti Rodisch takes control tonight after having a few weeks off for the holidays, and her teammate Dustin Parks will ride shotgun.  They will look at the updated condition of F1 phenom Michael Shumacher, who was injured in a skiing accident and remains in critical condition after surgery.  Fans and his former team are holding out hope that he will be recovered.

Along with the usual news and notes, it's going to be a look ahead to January testing in Daytona, and what it really will accomplish for drivers and teams, or whether it is just NASCAR testing out new ideas for the plate tracks.

The 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT start hasn't changed, so the new year looks to kick off with a bang as this crew is strapped in for yet another exciting year of episodes.
