SORT BY Relevancy
Senator Graham is a man many love to hate. Just as manyhate to love him. And then there are those who are huge fans of the Senator. Although he should win his re-election bid the story is not quite ready to send to the press or to Tweeter. There is a small village of Senator want-to-be's trying to derail the Senator's re-election bid. While no single candidate appears to be strong enough to beat him in a head-to-head race, they can possibly cause a runoff with the Senator that is difficult to predict.
We will have a Republican "young gun" joining the conversation. Should be interesting to see what the non-gray hair GOPer, Ethan Rivera, has to say.
We will be taking a look at this very important Senatorial race" In the Pickle Barrel" Monday morning from 7AM-8:30AM EST.

This week we will be examining & discussing the events that led up to the Oso Landslide. This was a disaster that never had to happen but it did. Why? It was a culmination of greed, corruption & ineptitude that was responsible for the tragic loss of life that will forever be a part of our being in the Northwest. From a county exec & local senator who cared more about the builders & lining their pockets, to the Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management employee who left as the director of FEMA region 10 because it was discovered that he had a diploma from a diploma mill after a series of embarrasing emails in connetion with "Brownie" from the Katrina post catastrophe about "who was gonna git the perdiest suits" to this same man writing out a statement that all was safe at Steelhead when it was clearly KNOWN it was not. So while these people set in motion the unfathomable loss of life suffered that day, they were having affairs out of state on the taxpayer dime, running their own businesses & bidding for govt contracts while they were supposed to be taking care of residents safety. Meanwhile the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) was lining their pockets while the timber companies were clearcutting on unstable lands & obviously cutting far beyond what was agreed. It was one big horrifc culmination of failures all across the board that killed 44 people that day.

The alarming underachievement of African Caribbean boys in British schools and abroad in comparison to other groups is highlighted in Dr. Janet Graham's book. The author adopts an historical perspective to compare West Indian children who arrived in Britain in the 1960s and 1970s (many labelled as ESN) (Coard 1971) to problems faced by black boys in today's classrooms.
Dr. Graham also explores the impact of globalisation, population movement, government policies and diversity on black boys’ education provision in inner city schools in Britain. She investigates masculinity, subcultures, peer group pressures and exclusion from school and their impact on black boys education. The Institutional Focus Study sets the context for the empirical study and provides a perspective from voices of black boys in one inner London school to find out what they think about school, learning, subcultures, peer group pressures and teachers.
As a contrast teachers’ views of the boys are also provided. This book will be of interest to educationalists, teachers, students; parents, school management and government bodies interested in race, diversity, achievement and want to bring about change to improve life chances.
