John 3:1-15New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Teaches Nicodemus
3 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]”
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit.
Jessica Kenley was born in 1981 in Buffalo, NY. She lost two of her children, Ethan Tyler and Kaylee Marie, to the Junctional-Herlitz subtype of Epidermolysis Bullosa during their infancy. She is a licensed veterinary technician and has since had 3 healthy children. She wrote the book "Kidowed" to describe the struggles, sorrows, and triumphs of her first two children's painful and short lives. In her second book, "Walking the Mile", she attempts to resume her life with a new husband, a new town, and a new baby. She describes her journey through the struggles with undiagnosed and stigmatized mental and physical illness, resulting in addiction, alcoholism, and the abandonment of her family and society as a whole. And finally--the light at the end of the tunnel.

DR. FORD HAS A CONFLICT. WE ARE WORKING TO REBOOK THIS FOR NEXT WEEK. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. - JOYCE AND ROBIN
What can we do to lower the incidence of infant deaths? Joyce and Robin speak with Dr. Robert Ford, a retired obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) from West Memphis, Arkansas, now living in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Ford shares his insights into this problem, which is highest in the Southern states.
Unfortunately, about 24,000 infants died in the United States in 2011. The loss of a baby remains a sad reality for many families and takes a serious toll on the health and well-being of families, as well as the nation.
The death of a baby before his or her first birthday is called infant mortality. The infant mortality rate is an estimate of the number of infant deaths for every 1,000 live births. This rate is often used as an indicator to measure the health and well-being of a nation, because factors affecting the health of entire populations can also impact the mortality rate of infants. There are obvious differences in infant mortality by age, race, and ethnicity; for instance, the mortality rate for non-Hispanic black infants is more than twice that of non-Hispanic white infants.
What are the Causes?
Fortunately, most newborns grow and thrive. However, for every 1,000 babies that are born, six die during their first year.1 Most of these babies die because they are—
Born with a serious birth defect.
Born too small and too early (i.e., preterm birth; birth before 37 weeks gestation).
Victims of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Affected by maternal complications of pregnancy.
Victims of injuries (e.g., suffocation).
These top five leading causes of infant mortality together account for 58% of all infant deaths in the United States in 2011.

If you are reading this - and you have read other biographical information that your show host has written about hundreds of artists, then this will take you by surprise. I am totally freaked out. LOL!!! Because Nathan East is something else ENTIRELY.
Over three decades of support for household names. A few - let's alphabetize: Barbra Streisand, Eric Clapton, Daft Punk (Grammy Awards here, pay attention!), Herbie Hancock, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Toto, Whitney Houston....still breathing? Oh, I KNOW, y'all! This is what I'm SAYING - this man is a ROCK of mass appeal. Genre jumping, bass busting, talent. Quincy Jones has said: "He's so talented it's ridiculous!"
A little background so yers truly can calm down. Born in Philadelphia, Nathan was four when his family (eight kids!) moved to San Diego. Nathan studied cello first, then became interested in bass when he was 14. His influences: Mingus and Ron Carter. Electric: Paul McCartney and Chuck Rainey.
On the road with Barry White when he was 16, his resume just grew from THERE. Multiple awards, soundtracks that are too numerous to mention, co-founding Fourplay, an online electric bass school, an accomplished magician as well as everything else just discussed - and - drumroll, please: over 2,000 credits to his name. Honest to God, one of the most recorded Bass players in musical history.
The reason for this visit from the esteemed Nathan East on 9/1: his partnership with Fourplay member, Bob James. Their astonishing project, "The New Cool" is about to drop. THIS host has dropped already, hearing it! Music to captivate and haunt, it's the crown jewel within the Yamaha Family, the company that is sponsoring this golden event.
What a thrill to bring you a glimpse into Nathan East. Second hour. Get your seat EARLY :)
