Legal Eagle and the Coach Radio

    in Business

Legal Eagle and the Coach Radio with Bryna Kiser and David Altenbern with special guest Brad Raney & Brian Turner:

Brad Raney - Over 25 years of real world experience in companies large and small, with various levels of management and leadership responsibilities. My primary focus has been on creating and growing high performance teams in a variety of industries. My "VOWELS" concept was born in a work environment and began the journey to launching a website, writing two books, conducting workshops, seminars and keynote speeches across the country for the last 5 years. Personal Performance Partnership - it developed over time from years of coaching, training, recruiting, and igniting the success of others. My business is founded on the three spiritual gifts I discovered I had several years ago: writing, speaking and empowering those around me to be the best they can! The company does corporate and convention speaking, sales and management training and provides job seeker services.

Brian Turner is a former businessman who for more than 20 years was the CEO and president of several companies that provided services for the life insurance industry. He’s been involved in numerous lawsuits both as a plaintiff and as a defendant. He explains how a $20,000 nonbinding arbitration award against him and his company unexpectedly and shockingly exploded into a $2 million judgment! He studied and researched the law extensively for the past 20 years. His conclusion is that everybody living in the United States today is highly vulnerable to a lawsuit that could easily wipe them out because of unpredictable jury verdicts and corruption in our legal system. His recommendation is that everyone must take proactive steps to protect themselves against lawsuits and to protect all of their assets.

Incident Response War Gaming: Practicing the Post-Breach Panicking

    in Technology

After a serious cybersecurity incident, everyone will be looking to you for answers -- but you’ll never have complete information and you’ll never have enough time. So in those heated moments, when a business is on the brink of collapse, how will you and the rest of the board room executives respond?

Wouldn’t it be nice to know ahead of time? That’s the purpose of incident response war gaming. In such an exercise, an organization’s key leaders must guide their business through the rocky days following a major security breach, with all the media pitfalls, law suits, sales hits, morale slumps, stock dives and other threats that may come with it.

On the next episode of Dark Reading Radio, learn how war gaming works and hear some major lessons learned from these exercises. Our guest will be Emily Mossburg, who leads the war gaming efforts for Deloitte Cyber Risk Services. Join us at Wednesday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
