“Hey everyone. Welcome to LIVEWELL Radio brought to you by GNC and PacificHealth, makers of Accelerade Hydro. In this EXCLUSIVE EPISODE, we go live with live wire! A remarkable young man: race car phenom. Ryan Reed. He embodies the phrase "overcome your obstacles."
Originally from Bakersfield, CA, Ryan moved across the country by himself at the age of 17 to Mooresville, NC in order to surround himself with the racing community.
In February 2011, Ryan was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) as he was preparing his move to North Carolina but he didn’t let that slow him down. The aspiring young NASCAR driver completed his move to North Carolina to pursue his driving career professionally. Since February, Ryan has had to change almost everything about his daily routine: diet, exercise, blood glucose readings, on track data, and reporting all of this information weekly to his medical / nutritional team in California.
In 2009, Ryan became the Legends Division Track Champion at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Irwindale, CA). Ryan backed up his Championship the following year at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale by becoming the 2010 Rookie-of-the-Year in the Super Late Model Division. He took home one win in the 2010 season becoming the youngest winner at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in the Super Late Model Divison.
We will talk about his work with JDRF, his nutrition and training regime, how he overcomes obstacles and more!
And the young man is a superstar on Twitter, engage with him at @driverryanreed! And visit his website at ryanreedracing.com
