A naturally born leader, her accomplishments were superior in Sales Management, capturing awards and sales contests regularly. She credits her success to her genuine concern for the client, honest and forthright communications, attention to detail, and willingness to do what it takes to meet the client’s needs. Today's show is all about marketing. A woman tests out a local fitness franchise, has a horrible experience, and never returns. About three months later, she receives a marketing piece thanking her for being a loyal member. Meanwhile, another customer receives an email stating, "We've missed you! Recommit to your fitness plan and we'll give you a 10 percent discount on personal training." The problem is the customer is an active member who's been to the franchise three times a week for the last six months.
What happened? Both of these "marketing-gone-bad" examples did more harm than good by wasting a franchisee's local marketing dollars, damaging a relationship with a loyal customer and further frustrating a disgruntled one. Automated marketing solutions provider m2M Strategies has zeroed in on this increasing problem, introducing franchise systems to "intelligent marketing" that uses a local franchisee's POS and CRM data to target the right customers at the right time, with the right message, with measurable results.
We are meeting with Mark Montini of m2M. m2M is a provider of automated marketing solutions that integrate data from CRM and POS systems to create impactful local franchisee marketing campaigns. The company offers a suite of marketing automation, email marketing, and PPC services, along with the ability to work with franchisors to deliver turnkey programs on a local level for relevant marketing campaigns for each individual market. m2M's proprietary marketing technology is the next generation of digital marketing solutions that integrates data from current CRM and POS systems to bring the power of behavioral data to optimized campaigns, tailored for the brand, the market and the resulting data that provides real, quantifiable, measurable benefits for individual franchise locations.
In part 2 we discuss the power of branding.

Venita and her husband, Duwayne, own C & J Trophy & Engraving, a family business. The couple makes it work by setting serious boundaries. Nestled between the University of Memphis campus and the Orange Mound Community, one of the largest and oldest black neighborhoods in the country. They purchased the business and property had been in business for over 30 years. The startup risk was low, but the stakes were high since they knew nothing about the awards and recognition industry. For the first few years, The Smiths didn’t change a thing. Fortunately, Venita had experience in retail and operations management and her husband had background in color proofing and lithographic photography, so they threw caution to the wind and went for it. And, eight years later, the rest is history.
Her first job, was at the Memphis in May International Festival as Secretary. That position would lead becoming its Operations Director for 10 years. That led her to become the Director of Operations at the National Civil Rights Museum. During her 16-year tenure, she assisted with two renovation projects and two expansion projects all while managing the day-to-day operations of the 40,000 square foot facility, 13 full time staff members, security, housekeeping and IT contractors. Venita retired in 2014 to focus more on the family business.
With her father owning a shoe repair business for over 30 years and her mother, who was a beautician and owned her own salon, Venita was destined to become an entrepreneur. Venita watched her parents as they worked together like hand and glove to provide a comfortable lifestyle for her family. They managed to work together as a team, like she and her husband Duwayne. Venita is the brain and Duwayne is the brawn.

What's Up Diamonds,
Thank you for listening to the the show with much #gratitude please continue to listen and support the show, guest and musicians. Monday is back to buisness, I'll be talking to one of the local business owner KATHLEEN WHITE franchise owner.
We get to find out the nitty-gritty of owning a franchise my guest Kathleen purchased into the "Two Men" moving company, a name most of you are familiar with or have knowledge of, in any case I'll be asking Kathleen more about it so you'll hear it again. For me owning a franchise would be scary, from my perspective, maybe a McDonalds or Burger King anything short of that I would worry about its success rate. But I must say Kathleen is doing it and doing it well! I will be asking her my usual line of questioning, her inspiration and drive to open a moving truck business. What are some of the struggles and achievements that occur especially when it comes to the big corporate companies like Harrison's. I was also wondering is social media a dominant advertisement tactic for this industry and has she been able to utilize it within her company. This is going to be a great business interview those of you thinking about buying into a franchise this is your opportunity to ask those informative questions and get the answer from someone who's been there and going far.

It's that time again! The NBA and NHL are entering their postseasons while the MLB is just heating up the stove for a 162-game season, and yet still, the NFL seems to be one of the most stationary talked about topics aroun the sports world. Why? Because they have the greatest draft in all of sports! The NFL Draft is just two weeks away and Michael Davis will release his mock draft, not cheating with trades. However, he'll discuss who may be in a position to trade up for high profile players such as Todd Gurley or Marcus Mariota. Plus, the impact of Aaron Hernandez in this year's draft and how teams should be careful in selecting the future of their franchise, and how closely they should pay attention to "red flags".
Sunday Stewart joins Ben Wiggins to discuss whether we like or hate the word "momtrepreneurs", whether people should continue trying to sell crap to their friends on Facebook, the science fiction franchise "Dune", whether baths are better than showers, and much more. And by "discuss", we mean "fight". Because that's what we do.
