Join us this week as we have another great show planned for you. This week we revisit a show topic that got folks worked up. We will discuss "Natural Hair vs Relaxed Hair" Part III. The first two shows were monumental. The phone lines were buzzing like crazy. And folks had all types of opinions. So after the words of Sheryl Underwood and the little sista down in Oklahoma City who was kicked out of school for having locks. The people wanted us to revisit this topic once again. We welcome back Sista Tamika Romayne from Chicago, IL. As well as a few stylist from around the country. So please spread the word about this weeks show. We start at 6pm est and our call in number is 619-393-2813
Natural Hair vs Relaxed hair
Why do Black women choose to wear their hair relaxed as opposed to wearing their hair natural? Is society a major factor in making black women dislike their natural appearance?Or is it simply by choice?

Are you having trouble with your hair? Do you feel frustrated that you are experiencing breakage or other common hair issues we all try to avoid? Well, we have Nadege from Relaxed Hair Health coming on the show to share some tips and discussion about relaxed hair. There is this myth that relaxed hair is unhealthy and cannot grow, but based on experience I feel this depends on many different factors. This is not a show to bash natural hair or relaxed hair, but merely to give some adivce to those who are interested to know more. Hair doesn't define us, but if it makes you feel good why not take care for it like any other aspect on your body.
To find Nadege :)

You see them all the time. Homeless people, wandering downtown, hanging around convenience stores or busy intersections panhandling for anything...money, food, a ride. I met Linda, a 52 year old, one-eyed homeless woman in Waco, TX. At first, she just asked me if I could help by giving her a little money..."anything you can spare would be appreciated." So, I reached in my pocket and pulled out some cash and gave her a couple of dollars. But before I did, I wanted to know a little about her life..."How did you come to be here?" I asked. She told me of her daily challenges and fearful nights living in the streets of Waco. She explained what happened to her and how she lost her eye. "I was sleeping, and someone swung at me with an ax," she said, as she pulled back her cap and hair, to reveal the damage to her skull. She's bouncing from place to place...one homeless shelter to another. One convenience store to another. I went in to pay for gas and as I was walking back to pump gas, she asked me if I could give her a ride. I agreed on one condition, that she would allow me to record her story during our drive. Tonight, I'll air she short interview. Call ins welcome.
