Milling About with Patrick Wilson & Paul Wilson

    in Entertainment

Patrick Wilson and Paul Wilson join host Robin Milling to talk about their film Big Stone Gap. It was a labor of love for the Wilson brothers who's family roots are steeped in the small Virginian town. As children they recall spending summers with their grandparents who lived in Big Stone Gap. They tell Robin it was bittersweet to return to the place of their fondest childhood memories to shoot the movie, even staying in the house where they summered. Patrick says, 'It's really been the most personal project I've ever been a part of.' Paul tells Robin the story of how the Wilson family has been immortalized in the town with 'Wilson Road,' and the 'Paul J. Wilson' bridge named for their grandfather. In fact their grandparents were friends with the parents of writer/director Adrianna Trigiani who waited until Patrick was old enough to play the part, to make the film of her book.

Patrick and Paul's collaboration goes beyond movies, as they also have a band called The Wilson Van along with their brother Mark playing renditions of Van Halen songs.

Big Stone Gap also stars Ashley Judd, Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Krakowski, Jenna Elfman, and John Benjamin Hickey.

  • Betrayal of Leadership: Which Elected Officials Need to Be Targeted For Defeat?

    in Women

This weekend's mass gathering is an opportunity for organizing on a grand scale. Voter registration should be a top priority, with the intention of voting out of office those elected officials who have betrayed the public's trust. Who are they? Have we been keeping track of voting records in City Council, the State Legislature, the Congress, the Senate? Have we been paying attention to decisions by judges and actions of State's Attorneys? Have our civic organizations been diligent in tallying up the numbers of registered voters, unregistered voters, and the numbers of votes needed to elect a candidate? Have community leaders stepped forward to run for office and replace those we no longer want to serve in those capacities? Unless we use this time wisely, the gathering of an estimated two million people will be just another neighborhood rally, and we'll go back home just as powerless as before, with a bit less money than we had. So who do we really need to seriously plan to defeat in the next election?

  • Oct. 7, 2015, 10pm (PDT) - Running for President with Independant Ed Baker

    in Paranormal

I was born in Milwaukie, Oregon (yes I have a Birth Certificate to prove it!). I have lived in Oregon all my life. I currently live in Downtown Portland. I'm single, never married.

My parents have both passed on. My grandma is 93 and the best person I have ever met.

I have three sisters, a number of nieces and nephews and their families who I appreciate and love very much.

I love sports. I played Baseball as a kid for eight seasons. I coached Babe Ruth Baseball (ages 13-15) for 14 years.

You won't find me out on a Golf Course or filling out an NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket during my time in the White House. I think having that in the face of the American People while they are struggling day after day is insulting. I also don't believe the President can be expected to not have entertainment and enjoyment a few hours a week. I will be happy to throw out the occasional "First Pitch" for our National Pastime.

I started working in Market Research Call Centers at age 15. I conducted telephone surveys on numerous topics with consumers and businesses. I moved up quickly in this field and within a few years was at a Director level managing a Data Collection and had a couple of start-ups in the field as well. I understand conducting quality opinion research. I value talking to people about important issues. From time to time I will have surveys on this website which I would appreciate your help on. I will personally be reviewing all submissions and will keep that information confidential. I enjoy talking with people on the phone and in person about these issues as well. As time allows I will be conducting some research by those methods too.

Currently I have one cat. His name is Titan. He is 10 years old and I've had him all his life. He's like a son to me. I'm excited to see him exploring the White House.

"She Crushed Carly Fiorina in 2010. Now She’s on a Mission to Do It Again."

Barbara Boxer took out Fiorina, ‘the most negative campaigner I’ve ever run against,’ by 10 points. The senator’s new goal: to ensure her one-time foe does just as badly in 2016.

Barbara Boxer, the senator from California, leaned over her press secretary, Peter True, as he sat at an HP desktop computer and tried to find an old campaign ad from 2010.

Boxer wanted me to see the ad because it featured interviews with former employees of HP who had been laid off by the storied technology company’s one-time CEO, Carly Fiorina, who in 2010 challenged Boxer for her seat and now, five years later, seeks the Republican nomination for a somewhat higher office: president of the United States.

For Boxer, who defeated Fiorina by 10 points—or as she likes to point out, by 1 million votes—in 2010, ensuring that the former CEO gets no closer to the White House than she did to the Senate has become an unexpected end-of-career crusade

When she first learned the details of Fiorina’s record, Boxer said, “I was shocked.” It wasn’t just that she had fired 30,000 people but the apparent callousness with which she had done so. They were, Boxer said, "summarily dismissed like some kind of garbage." Even now, so long after the Senate campaign, Boxer sounds like she still can't believe it. “That comes back to haunt you! You cannot do that. You cannot step on people when you're going up the ladder, because they don't forget.”

"She Crushed Carly Fiorina in 2010. Now She’s on a Mission to Do It Again."

The Ad Is Called "Workers," and it was released on 10-20-10.  [About The 30,000 Fired From Hewlett-Packard By Fiorina.  Jobs Shipped 2 China/India & They Had To Train their replacements.

  • Boehner's Leaving the House, Time to Replace Him with Our Guest Jim Condit Jr.

    in Politics Conservative

Bards Logic welcomes Candidate for Boehner's House Seat Jim Condit Jr.

    Topics we will discuss:

    1. The upcoming special election in District 8 of Ohio to replace John Boehner

    2. Watch the Vote 2016 – (Now also WatchTheVoteUSA.com) – to get a fair count for all the candidates at the Iowa Caucus in 2016; how Watch the Vote 2012 forced the Iowa GOP to change the winner from Romney to Santorum two weeks after the Jan 3, 2012 Iowa Presidential Caucus. This is the first time this ever happened, as far as we know, in a Presidential primary or Caucus. This could engage a discussion of the Presidential Candidates and the mechanics of the Iowa Caucus – very important. The Iowa Caucus is the most open of all the election processes in the Presidential year – it is totally transparent.

    3. NetworkAmerica.org – the website where anyone can sign up in the party of their choice, or as an independent, talk to anyone else – NO GATEKEEPERS – and meet online with others in their county and in their chosen party – and then to organize physically to throw out the party leaders in the Dem and Repub party in almost every county. See 6 min video at networkamerica.org on several places the grassroots conservatives already control.
