    Three Years Later?

    in Entertainment

As we go deeper in the history of Devon Rizzo's life, we discover many things that could tear him apart. At least if it was donee right. There may be a scene that could be too much for people under the age of 16.

This is the world of natural talents. A young man with beginner's experience of telepathy doesn't even know about his talent. In fact, he believes everyone around them can hear the thoughts he keeps hearing. Before he realizes and/or recognizes the truth, he is pulled into the natural world with brute force via the good and the bad people. What could possibly happen next?

Live: STANDING OVATION For FANS and Volunteers of the 5th Chesapeake Bay Fest

This is one of the first chances i had to give a shout out to all with a clear head. We are really overjoyed by the love and support of everyone. We really had to make changes this year and most of them not by choice. We actually had to start over from scratch but we were dedicated to make the best of things regardless what we had to work with. Buckroe Beach was our home and it is a special place but we had to pick and choose our battles and stay positive and just make it happen. We had to send a message that nothing can stop the power of Reggae Music. It is a music that unites people of all backgrounds. I cant tell you what a great feeling it was to see so many diverse people in one place. I met some of the kindest people in my life all weekend. I want to thank all the vendors because they really are the back bone of the fest, the sponsors that really lend support financially to help pay the bills, the volunteers that unselfishly devoted their time . The sound men who relentlessly tried to make things perfect as possible. The musicians who gave every ounce of their soul to the people. Lastly, the people who attended. Thank you so much again for being there. Without your love ,support and flexibility we would been no-where . Thank you again every one, we pulled it off. Watch for a bigger thing next year.

Wanda's Picks Radio Show: African Liberation Day

    in Art

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!

    Guests:
1.As a youth living in Los Angeles, CA, Akubundu Amazu-Lott experienced first hand being profiled by the police. On at least a half dozen occasions he was pulled over at gun-point by the LAPD. This experience contributed to his understanding that African people in America were treated as second-class citizens. He made his way out of Los Angeles to SJSU. There he participated in sports (football) and received his B.S. in Business Administration and his Master of Urban Planning. He joined the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (AAPRP) in 1979 and is currently on the Central Committee and the California Chapter Coordinating Council. It is through his extensive study of Pan-Africanism and the struggles of oppressed people globally that he remains motivated to work for positive change. He has been an adjunct professor at SJSU for the past seven years in the African-American Studies Department.

    2. Jimi Evins, artist, curator, speaks about his show this weekend at Studio/Gallery 1508 in Oakland, 1508 8th Street, West Oakland. Charles Curtis Blackwell joins Jimi Evins. He is a jazz poet and a playwright, performance and visual artist. His paintings have been shown from coast to coast and have received multiple awards. In 2009 he was one of three featured artists at Lighthouse for the Blind’s 20th anniversary Insights exhibit in San Francisco.

John Carver Show - The Unbreakable Human Spirit - Theo Androus

    in Self Help

I first heard Theo Androus back in 2003.  The Catholic Herald shares a little about Theo:

    "

On a Wednesday evening in 1999, the slightly built Androus took a shot at goal in a coed soccer game in Alexandria, but never saw the 6-foot 3-inch, 240-lb goalie who crashed into him. The impact shattered two bones beneath Androus’ knee into six pieces, causing "unbelievable pain," he recalled. He was taken to INOVA Alexandria Hospital where surgeons stabilized the fracture, inserting a titanium rod through the center of his tibia. Androus spent a month in bed and three months in a wheelchair recovering from the injury.

Androus, who wore leg braces as a child to correct a congenital condition and survived a head-on car crash on the George Washington Parkway in 1989, said he had to set a goal for himself in order to get well. His goal was running the 2000 Marine Corps Marathon.

"Life is about making choices," Androus told the assembly. As an Ireton student, he didn’t see the point of studying geometry or trigonometry and remembers begging math teacher Richard Bulcavage for a C, but publicly thanked him last week for giving him a D, the grade he deserved. Androus said he regretted never having had the chance to thank the late Coach James McGrath for his influence. "You have people here who care so much about you," Androus said."

Travel Today - The One&Only Palmilla

    in Travel

This week's episode of Travel Today with Peter Greenberg comes from The One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico. After being hit by Hurricane Odile in September 2014, Los Cabos was badly damaged. Like many other properties, the One&Only Palmilla suffered major wounds and had to close for a massive recovery and rebuilding effort. But now it’s back, and some would say, better than ever.

The resort’s staff pulled together as a community in one of the stronger examples of a public/private partnership. Arnie Weissmann, Editor-in-Chief of Travel Weekly, talks about disaster tourism and why now is the time to go to Los Cabos. Then the President of the Los Cabos Humane Society, Aida Trujillo, talks about animal displacement after the storm and how visitors can help…including international pet adoption! (Hint—you get to fly your new pet home…for free!). All of this and more on this week's Travel Today with Peter Greenberg comes from The One&Only Palmilla.

14 YEARS OF WAR AND STILL NO IED PRE DETONATOR

    in Politics Conservative

FOURTEEN YEARS DOWN OF THE MOSLEM 100 YEARS WAR.86 YEARS TO GO.

AT THE BEGINNING OF WWII ON THE EVE OF OUR BLESSED MOTHERS HOLY DAY WE WERE DEFENSELESS JUST LIKE ON 911. FIVE YEARS LATER IN 1945 WE EXPLODED TWO ATOMIC BOMBS CREATED BY SURVIVAL NECESSITY. FOURTEEN YEARS AFTER THE CLINTON TOWERS CAME DOWN I AM WATCHING GI'S IN WHEEL CHAIRS PLAYING BASKETBALL. 14 YEARS AND STILL NO LIFE SAVING DEVICE CALLED AN IED PRE DETONATOR. A LASER LIKE TOOL MOUNTED ON A VEHICLE THAT IDENTIFIES BURIED IED'S AND DETONATES THEM. THIS FROM A COUNTRY THAT CAN READ A WOMAN'S UNDERWEAR LABEL AT THE AIRPORT. THE WOUNDED RATIO THAT WE INCURRED LIBERATING IRAQ THE COUNTRY THAT OBAMA GAVE BACK TO HIS AL QUEDA AND IRANIAN BROTHERS IS SEVEN TO ONE.

BUSH LOST 4700 AMERICANS IN IRAQ TIMES SEVEN EQUALS 32,900 WOUNDED. NOT COUNTING PTSD'S. OBAMA LOST VERY FEW IN IRAQ BUT HE ALSO LOST IRAQ.

I AM CONVINCED THAT HIS COWARDICE IN THE FACE OF THE ENEMY HAS INCREASED THE PTSD RATE AMONG THE FALLEN. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ANTI WIN COMMUNISTS REMIND ALL GI'S THAT THEIR SACRIFICE WAS FOR NOTHING. NOT TRUE. YOU ARE ALL 911 AVENGERS AND SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF LIBERTY.ONCE AGAIN THE AMERICAN FIGHTING MAN WINS AND THE POLITICIANS LOSE ALL COMBAT GAINS.

LET US TURN TO OBAMA'S HIDDEN BY THE COMMUNIST MEDIA AMERICAN DEATH COUNT. UPON SEIZING POWER OBAMA AND HIS MEDIA PRESSLINGS COVERED UP HIS LOSSES. BUSH IN EIGHT YEARS LOST 461 BELOVED AMERICANS IN AFGHANISTAN. EVERY ONE ID BY THE COMMUNIST PRESS BY NAME, RANK, TOWN AND PHOTO. WHEN THEY COULD THEY PULLED A CODE STINK AND STUCK A MIKE IN A GOLD STAR MOTHERS FACE ASKING HOW DOES IT FEEL TO LOSE A SON UNDER BUSH?
