Politics Done Right on KPFT - The People’s Budget, the budget you never heard of

    in Politics Progressive

Did you know that there is a budget out there that is a middle-class centric budget? This budget came neither from the Obama administration or the Republican Congress. In fact the budgets released by the Republican Congress was a fraud on every poor and middle-class American.

Nobel Price winning economist Paul Krugman excoriated the Republican budget. As usual the President’s budget was a compromised budget. So why have we not heard too much about the people’s budget? Are you kidding? It is about the Plutocracy’s control of the message. Well as long as KPFT is on air you control this message.

What do you think. Let’s talk about it.

Politics Done Right - Paul Krugman slams fraudulent GOP budgets

    in Politics

Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman came out swinging against the two Republican budgets this week. He enumerated many of the items that made the budget nothing but fraudulent deceptive documents. He urged Americans to be angry and do something about it. He said,

Look, I know that it’s hard to keep up the outrage after so many years of fiscal fraudulence. But please try. We’re looking at an enormous, destructive con job, and you should be very, very angry.

What do you think. Let's talk about it.

Politics Done Right on KPFT - Whether it is Iran or Venezuela it is war and oil

    in Politics Progressive

When Senator Tom Cotton and forty six other Republicans attempted to sabotage the negotiations between the US, the 5+1 nations and Iran they expected to cut the feet from under the president. It has since backfired. Only their most ardent supporters think it was a good idea.

The infantile wording of the letter showed a Party that is not only in decline ideologically, but a Party whose leadership is intellectually deficient. Rank and file Republicans deserve much better. They need to take their Party back.

While we will talk about Iran tonight we will expand on how this type of actions materially affect us all. My featured guest today is Tim Danahey of the Tim Danahey Show.

Politics Done Right - Is welfare for the rich the same as welfare for the poor?

    in Politics Progressive

Today I will be exploring whether welfare for the rich has the same implications as welfare for the poor. Last night Bill Maher said the following.

“Republicans are right,” Bill Maher said “Not having to work and getting free money does mess people up. That’s why they love to talk about work, the virtue of work, the right to work, workfare, the dignity that comes with work.

In fact there is only one thing conservatives believe in more than work. And that is the God given right of rich people to leave all their money to their kids so they never have to work a day in their lives. …

I mean think about it. Republicans are on board with taxing people’s income, their investments, property, food, gas, booze, cigarettes, everything you buy, even your retirement. Those are all OK. But the one thing that must remain tax free is when money falls from the sky and lands in the lap of [explicative] Hilton. …

If the tough love of cutting off free money for the poor is the right thing to do how can we stand by and do any less for the Conrad Hiltons of the world. They’ve never known the dignity of work either. Shouldn’t we be helping them by taxing inheritance at one hundred percent?”

Politics Done Right - Pandering to an Israeli warmongering thuggish bully

    in Politics Progressive

This week Benjamin ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu, the Israeli warmongering thuggish bullying Prime Minister received a thunderous reception as he addressed a joint session of Congress. It was an embarrassing seen that this little country that is dependent on the United States for its existence would send its Prime Minister to dictate United States foreign policy. Let’s talk about that and other prescient issues.

Politics Done Right on KPFT - Stop rewarding Obamacare political malpractice

    in Politics Progressive

There is no doubt that the Affordable Care Act is working. There is no doubt that Texans are dying because of the choices Republican politicians made. They made the decision to not accept the Medicaid Expansion to the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare. The question is, what do we do? What do you think. Let’s talk about it. Your voice is very important.

Politics Done Right - We must have open dialogue on difficult issues

    in Politics

This week I stepped into it big time. I made the following post on the Coffee Party USA Facebook page.

The reaction was mostly negative towards the post. I received threats by message and emails. What did I do wrong? I had the gall to call out Bill Maher using a nuanced and to some extent condescending tone to point how why his rigid stance on Muslims was neither correct or helpful. Since the person that killed the three students claimed he was an atheist I was trying to see if empathy would reign base on how some would attempt to vilify atheist for the act.

The reaction was to make no attempt to understand that I was on the side of most that were slamming me with expectation that there would be some introspection. Anyway, this is what we will discuss on Politics Done Right today.

What are your thoughts? Let’s  talk. I will also be following our hash-tag #PoliticsDoneRight on Twitter. Give me a call.

Politics Done Right on KPFT - Ta-nehisi Coates’ challenges Shelby Steele

    in Politics Progressive

I was shocked after watching ThisWeek yesterday. It was a conversation between Ta-nehisi Coates and Shelby Steele. It so affected me that as I wrote the blog of the week I was shaking from an anger that someone’s mind could be so enslaved.

While I have no intentions of talking about this subject today, I felt compelled to bring it up in a broadcast domain to counteract it since George Stephanopoulos did not.

Politics Done Right on KPFT - National Issues, David Cobb, Shamako Noble

    in Politics Progressive

Yet another black man was killed by a police officer in America. This time in Madison Wisconsin. There is little we know about the incident. Why is it with some it is all about shooting first, escalating first.

For the first time in American history a President’s foreign policy was publicly and disrespectfully undermined.

The University of Oklahoma fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity were caught chanting on a bus that they would rather lynch blacks than sign them as members. But it is all in the heads of those black folks.

Today we will have former Green Party Presidential candidate and Move To Amend spokesperson and leadership team member David Cobb and hip hop artist, cultural organizer and political theorist Congress Shamako Noble on the show. They will be discussing Hip Hop Congress‘ and Move to Amend‘s visit to Houston to conduct educational panels covering corporate rule and much more.
