    Creative Community Culture

    in Music

Please join us for a conversation about Creativity, Community, and Cultural relevance. We will be engaged with two dynamic guests.  The first half of our program, we will interview the talented vocalist Ozara Ode. Ozara has started a Gofundme campaign to take her Nina Simone adaptation to Broadway. After reaching much success in Atlanta with the production “In the Key of Nina” during the summer of 2015, Ozara is on a mission to further honor Ms.  Simone’s legacy. We will be talking more with Ozara to find out what she is doing and how we can support her.

The dialogue for the second hour will be driven by Pittsburg raptivist, Jasiri X who has been steadily climbing the rungs of the underground ladder worldwide. Jasiri made major noise with his debut single “Free the Jena6”. Tonight he will enlighten us about Black Liberation Theology and share what else he has in store.

We will contemplate the fate of a center that was designed with the spirit of Comrade Tupac Amaru Shakur in mind. Built to be a hub of Creative Community collaboration and cultural education, it has long been shut down and now the building is for sale.  We look into ideas about what happened, why, and what we can do differently to insure that similar efforts flourish. Welcome to the Blaq Hour.

    SAVED BY HOPE

    in Christianity

We are saved by hope." Romans 8:24. The fallen must be led to feel that it is not too late for them to be men. Christ honored man with His confidence and thus placed him on his honor. Even those who had fallen the lowest He treated with respect. It was a continual pain to Christ to be brought into contact with enmity, depravity, and impurity; but never did He utter one expression to show that His sensibilities were shocked or His refined tastes offended. Whatever the evil habits, the strong prejudices, or the overbearing passions of human beings, He met them all with pitying tenderness. As we partake of His Spirit, we shall regard all men as brethren, with similar temptations and trials, often falling and struggling to rise again, battling with discouragements and difficulties, craving sympathy and help. Then we shall meet them in such a way as not to discourage or repel them, but to awaken hope in their hearts. As they are thus encouraged,

they can say with confidence, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me." He will "plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteousness." Micah 7:8, 9.

A Pastor Should Never Compromise His Integrity No Matter What

    in Prayer

Proverbs 12:3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
Solomon knew that our word is our bond (promise,) and following the Lords word is important as a Christian because His word is our bond to us.  Our character is reflected by the words that we speak and the vows that we make.  Broken promises causes a great deal of hurt and is the same sin of lying.  Personal Integrity as a Christian is held valuable by God when we honor our commitments.  People can't sin and get away with it because the Lord sees everything we say and do.  No one can get away from their responsibilities (the promises that they make)  and not answer to God for them.  What kinds of rewards do you want in Heaven? When you see the face of Jesus, will He say, "Well done good and faithful servant," or will He have tears in His eyes over the hurts caused by broken promises?

Pilgrims And The Governments Of Men 1 Peter 2:13-17

    in Religion

1 Peter 2:13-17Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

13 Be submissive to every human institution and authority for the sake of the Lord, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,

14 Or to governors as sent by him to bring vengeance (punishment, justice) to those who do wrong and to encourage those who do good service.

15 For it is God’s will and intention that by doing right [your good and honest lives] should silence (muzzle, gag) the ignorant charges and ill-informed criticisms of foolish persons.

16 [Live] as free people, [yet] without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but [live at all times] as servants of God.

17 Show respect for all men [treat them honorably]. Love the brotherhood (the Christian fraternity of which Christ is the Head). Reverence God. Honor the emperor.

What Do You Think About These Instructions?

    in Self Help

FBI University is a school of Faith Based Instructions. Wherein, we extract the wisdom of God from the text of scripture, fashion it into practical principles of instructions, and present them through daily devotionals. Obedience to these instructions turns beliefs into behavior that advances our economical, emotional, and intellectual wellbeing. Now stay tuned as John Marshall teaches you how that by following instructions you coach yourself into the Champion Circle.

Jesus never sought to change the quality of one’s existence through prayer alone. Jesus sought to change the quality of life by issuing a set of instructions. Even to Lazarus, who had been dead for four days, Jesus gave a set of instructions, “Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:43). Had Lazarus dishonored the instructions, he would have remained dead. His quality of life changed due to his willingness to honor the set of instructions that Jesus issued to him. Prayer is a powerful tool. I continually use that God-authorized empowerment tool. However, do not seek to alter your course in life by prayer alone. God seeks to improve your life by giving you a set of instructions.

There is no greater love than laying down your life for others. A memorial.

    in Current Events

ONE VOICE SILENCED, ONE MILLION AWAKENED, was on the sign of a man who went to honor an American hero named Lavoy Finnicum. There were more than 4000 people gathered in Knab, Utah to honor an honest and godly rancher who was a peacemaker and the man who exited a vehicle  that was ambushed, to draw fire away from the three passengers still in the vehicle, one man and two women. He was murdered, gunned down in cold blood, with his hands raised in the air, and then the vehicle was attacked, repeatedly, with vollies of gunfire and flashbangs, in the attempts of the death squad, to murder all the witnesses. But the miraculous power of God and prayer kept those people from being slaughtered, and when the Oregon State Police witnessed the repeated attempts to murder people who had been shouting their surrender, from the very beginning of the ambush, it seems the feds were shamed into stopping their assault, and there was no more bloodshed.
