SORT BY Relevancy
For this episode of The #SocialSpitballShow, we focus on the Do-Nothing Congress of the last few years. The Congressional approval ratings have dipped into the "teens," in terms of approval numbers.
Two of the worst offenders of this 113th Congress are Darrell Issa (CA-49) & Walter B. Jones, Jr. (NC-3). Our guests this evening are true representatives of the people who are ready to take the fight for the people to DC.
Our first guest is new to the show, but not to the national spotlight. Dave Peiser is the Democratic candidate running against incumbent Darrell Issa (R), who has held the seat since 2003. Peiser is a true community man. He has founded two businesses (Peiser Solutions & greenliness.com). With one rooted in health care experiences and the other providing green product solutions, Dave Peiser is right in sync with the average California voter. Peiser also serves on several non-profit boards and advocates for those that do not have their own voice. Tune in to hear more about the man who will remove Darrell "Benghazi" Issa from office: http://www.peiserforcongress.com/
Our second guest is quite familiar to the Social Spitball Show listener. Marshall Adame is a fascinating, passionate family man, retired Marine and U.S. diplomat, as well as an active defender of the rights of veterans, workers, women and the environment of North Carolina. Whenever Marshall speaks, you know he is speaking from the heart, as well as the mind. A solid mix of intelligence & passion is exactly what NC's 3rd Congressional district needs. The people need these representatives. The people need to hear their messages. Spread the word and tune in starting at 7pm EDT
Let's get the conversation going...
Our modern American society is so fractured with violent rhetoric & periodic violent actions against each other. Many of the older generations remember a time when compromise was not such a dirty word of virtual political surrender to the other side. Times were more civil decades ago...or were they?
Our guest for Sunday, June 29 is Claire Connner Mork, who wrote the sensational and critically acclaimed book, "Wrapped in the Flag: A Personal History of America's Radical Right."
The truth is history really does repeat itself. Claire grew up in a household run by two Chicago area organizers of the radically conservative group The John Birch Society.
They filtered her world view with their own and checked her textbooks to make sure no liberal bias entered her young & powerfully developing mind. So, in the atmosphere of Cold War Joe McCarthy Communist witch hunts, young Claire Conner found herself at a "safe conservative" school in Dallas, Texas in November of 1963.
The roots of what is happening today can be traced to the history that Ms. Conner Mork experienced firsthand. I'm intrigued, aren't you?

What would happen if the GOP repealed Obamacare?
The consequences of repeal, health care officials and industry analysts say, go beyond the fact that 9 million people would suddenly lose their insurance or that anyone with a pre-existing condition would either lose insurance or pay much higher premiums.
All consumers would take a huge financial hit, because health care costs would continue to rise, and insurers would probably recoup their losses by charging higher premiums.
How will Obamcare be remembered in history poll?

One of my last shows that i'm going to do this run is going to be on being a GEEK. Many of us have been called & considered geeks, dorks, & other names which could be taken in a negative way. I did some searches and I came across people who really love being a 'geek,' & really offer some great pros on being one & why one should not be ashamed of such. It can work & I believe these clips really offer quite a bit to offer positivity.
