Tonight's special guest host is Barbara Ochoa from San Francisco, a returning NAASCA family member who has been with us several times. That's because Barbara (aka Petra Luna) has a special mission, one which we share with her here at NAASCA. Each year for the past three years, Barbara has produced a series of events celebrating what's become known as Male Abuse Awareness Week (MAAW -- the first week of December). Each year, recognizing that young males have an especially tough time even talking about being abused as kids, Barbara reaches out to this frequently undeserved group with videos, music events, dance and special guest appearances (Help4Guys.org). She encourages victims of abuse to seek help, justice and recovery through her music and nonprofit organization, the P.Luna Foundation. Barbara will be joined tonight by her guests Patrick Donaldson and DeWayne Watts. Patrick is engaged in revealing Male Military Spouse abuse issues and manages the web site www.MachoSpouse.com. DeWayne is the author of several books including the novels "The Boy in The Wood" and "David's Mark" and writes a blog at www.DeWayneWatts.com, where one can keep up to date on all his current projects. Join us to discuss these and other issues pertaining to Male Abuse Awareness Week.
Sissy welcomes newly returned missionary from Ukraine, Pat Whaley. Pat is the President of Sasha Ministry and has devoted the last eight years serving Jesus Christ in this part of the world. Join Sissy for this important and enlightening discussion.
Fantastic Frank wants to remind people that each traumatic brain injury (TBI) is different, from a mild concussion to a permanent disability. In Fantastic Frank’s case, something really magical happened. A deep compassion for mankind awakened. He disarms people with the sincere way he says “God Bless You,” to a wrong number phone call, or “Thank You,” upon being criticized. He is completely real, emotionally expressed, and personally revealed, warts and all, 100 percent of the time.
Book Fantastic Frank to present his keynote speech "From Flawed to Fantastic: How to find the hero in you"
Has Facebook become the enemy of free speech? In the after math of the killing of unarmed, black teenager Michael Brown, and the grand jury's decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson for that murder, the number of people being blocked by Facebook for voicing their dissent with that decision is on the rise. With recent policy decisions by Mark Zuckerberg that would suppress the youth vote which leans Democratic and was crucial to the success President Obama's election and re-election, is Facebook the "Big Brother" we've all dreaded and what can be done to find alternative social media outlets that don't restrict free thought, free speech and the ideals of freedom itself. Tune in and join the conversation. (619) 768-2924.

When your average doe-eyed, naive boxing card moves to Hollywood with delusions of being an entertaining, enthralling affair, yeah... Usually they fall short, but at least they gave it an honest effort. But this whole Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri business? We knew that was woeful from the get-go. The main event was a mismatch, as were two more of the four-fight card. This week on TQBR Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules ridicule a lot of things about boxing, then look toward brighter pastures with Terence Crawford vs Ray Beltran coming up. It should get interesting, or at least contradictory. Thanks for tuning in!
I have a dream...Celebrating Out 50 Years of Jubilee!
Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Cilvil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality.
So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? How will we strengthen our famillies and our communities?
Fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we Celebrate our Jubilee and join in that movement of teaching us all to evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for elevation of our consciousness into the greatness that lies in the Human Spirit.
Our ancesters from Africa knew the power of connection to the Divine, and honoring the human-ness in each other. I invite you to remember the greatness of our people, and let's have conversations that inspires us all to take action to "Heal what's hurting our Black Community."
We are powerful, and we rise!
But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Scripture provides an accurate and reliable guide to the realities of the spiritual and material worlds. It affirms the reality of human sin, of the power and purpose of God to deal with sin through Jesus Christ and of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The reality of God. The reality of the existence of God. The reality of the love of God. The reality of God’s salvation. The reality...
As many citizens across the country are reacting with anger to the Grand Jury's decision to file no charges against police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown, there are those who have launched a proactive strategy in the fight for justice. Judge Stanley Hill has worked for the last several years coordinating the PUSH Excel Oratorical Contest, an event in which youth in grades 1 through 12 memorize some of history's most powerful speeches in the areas of peace and justice. Judge Hill coaches these youth and prepares them to compete in a stimulating and enjoyable rhetorical competition that focuses on the persuasive power of eloquent, inspirational speech. These are the perhaps future lawyers who will present arguments before courts and win cases. What better way to fight back against injustice than to prepare future leaders who can be the orators that awaken their peers to the principles of truth, honor, and righteousness? Some of those whose memorable speeches will be recited by students in the upcoming contest Saturday December 20, 2014 include President Barack Obama, Langston Hughes, Robert Frost, Nikki Giovanni, and The Girl Who Silenced the United Nations for Five Minutes. Judge Hill explains his motivation for empowering these youth with outstanding speaking skills, and what the memorization of such impressive words will do in shaping their character. Later, we'll be joined by organizers in Missouri who reflect on how to take the energy of anger in the protesters and use it to create constructive change across the country.
As the citizens across the country continue to react to the Grand Jury's decision in Ferguson Missouri to file no charges against police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown,
