This week we'll be interviewing Angela Thurston, one of the brightest young millienial stars we know. Angie Thurston is at Harvard Divinity School to deepen spiritual community among millennials amidst increasing religious disaffiliation. A graduate of Brown University, Angie spent six years as a playwright and arts administrator in New York City. She now applies her creative energy to collaborations centered on fostering spiritual growth.
America is changing: Millennials are less religiously affiliated than ever before. Churches are just one of many institutional casualties of the internet age in which young people are both more globally connected and more locally isolated than ever before.
Against this bleak backdrop, a hopeful landscape is emerging. Millennials are flocking to a host of new organizations that deepen community in ways that are powerful, surprising, and perhaps even religious. After two years of noticing this happen, Angela has coauthored this report with Casper ter Kuile. The two are sharing their findings in order to start a conversation. They speak to three groups of people: Organizational leaders, organizational supporters and those interested in America’s changing religious landscape.
They highlight ten organizations that illustrate what is happening. These organizations have a shared ethos. They map out their ancestry, sibling projects, and cousins in corporate America. They close the report with a few considerations for the organizations and others invested in their success, asking: Who are we serving? How are we leading? What about God?
Hopefully these organizations will begin to see themselves as part of a broader cultural shift toward deeper community. By consciously coming together, they could form the DNA of a fruitful movement for personal spiritual growth and social transformation. We invite you to join us in considering how millennials are changing the way we gather.
A new and better America is within each American. Not everyone wants or feel there is a need for a new and better America. We have already everything needed for a new and better America. Usually what we seek has missing elements and we have to wait for money or opportunity. With the massive jobless people today we have people power. With soaring stock markets, thanks to consumers, businesses have funds to donate. With the education and skill level of Americans today, we can tackle any series of ideas with success. With all that we have, our only need is within each of us. Desire. With a desire for a new and better America, we can see it become reality. Call on Politicians, Activist, Organizations, Non-profits and individuals to collaborate efforts for America's successes. Together and only together can all America will bask in full employment, raised wages and keep ACA.

The ladies of Delta Sigma Theta and the gentlemen of Phi Beta Sigma emerged as winners of the 2015 Greek Step Show and Concert competition after thrilling performances. The event, held at the university’s clock tower center, was the highlight of weeklong Homecoming activities that took place from February 8-15, 2015.
The four-hour competition was attended by alumni, staff, students, and friends who filled all 400 seats on a chilly night. Food vendors provided burgers, hot dogs, fries, and most importantly hot chocolate to keep the crowd warm.
The audience watched attentively as various Greek organizations took to the floor and stepped their best in line with the disc jockey’s musical mix. The groups were judged by several FMU Greek alumni. The two winning organizations not only earned bragging rights for the whole year but they also received $1,000 checks each and engraved trophies.
R&B singer August Alsina closed the show with a 45-minute musical thriller as the crowd cheered and roared with enthusiasm. FMU student Khalinah Walker, summed up the event: “Even though I’m freezing out here I’m glad that I came tonight. The show gets better each year, I Love August Alsina and all the Greeks did a good job.”
The staff members are already planning for next year’s show and students are anticipating the event as well to see who will win the Greek Show and who will be the entertainer.
