The EUCHARIST is the source and summit of the catholic faith. If one believes in the Real Presence (that The Eucharist is actually, truly, really, physically) the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, one is Catholic. If one believes it is not, one isn't catholic. Find out why Catholics believe in the Real Presence in the Eucharist, where this belief is in scripture, what the first christians said about it, and why it is necessary to our very salvation that we take the Eucharist as often as possible
Come and worship with the USOCC! We will have the Liturgy of the Word together, along with hymns, prayers, scripture, Gospel, psalms, a homily/sermon, and praise of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. After the Liturgy, we will end with a guided meditation in which we have an encounter with the Risen Lord. November 1st is the solemnity of All Saints or All Saints Day. It is the reason for the existence of Halloween, a word comprised of an older English phrase, "All Hallows Eve"--The Night before All Saints. "Hallow" means "Holy." The doctrine of the Communion of Saints is an ancient one with its roots firmly planted in Jewish tradition and teaching. Jesus and the Apostles believed in the concept and it is repeated throughout the bible: we are one with believers who have died and gone to heaven. The "Communion of Saints" is one of the required beliefs for Christianity, as stated in the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. Belief in it is sacrosanct.
Yet, many people attack the doctrine as a form of communication with the dead forbidden by scripture. Others have no idea what a saint is or how one becomes a saint. What's the purpose of a saint? Why do they matter to us? What does it mean to be "in communion" with them?
Join Reverend Mother Kristina Rake, M.A., M.Div., for this enlightening discussion about the saints. From the biblical and Jewish roots of sainthood to the process of cannonization, Mother Rake walks us through the meaning and purpose of devotion to these Heroes in Faith who did what we are trying to do and received the reward we long for: heaven and an eternity with God.
Rev. Mother Kristina Rake is a priest in the United States Old Catholic Church and serves as Director of Public Relations for the church. Mother Rake has taught scripture, theology, and apologetics to Catholic adults for over 16 years and is the author of God and the Paranormal: Psychis, Mediums, and the Afterlife in the Bible.
What does the Catholic Church teach about the coming, person, and nature of Jesus Christ? In our second RCIA session, we will take a look at the dogmas surrounding Christ, as well as their place in scripture, tradition, and the life of a Christian. We will also look at the sacraments as a means in which we live into the story of Christ.
Join Reverend Mother Kristina a Rake, M.A., M.Div. for this enlightening examination of Jesus for those new to the faith.
Join Rev. Mother Kristina Rake as she explains what a sacrament is and why it is so important to us. You'll learn about the Seven Scriptural Sacraments, where they are in scripture, and how they mark the life of a Christian.
Join us for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ (Corpus Christi)! Our worship will include a Homily on the necessity of the Eucharist to salvation and to Christianity itself! Deacon Kristina Rake, an accomplished and well-versed Catholic Apologist--will give a homily on the Apologetics of the Most Holy Eucharist. Please join us for our Long Distance worship in the USOCC Tradition. Our worship includes the Liturgy of the Word, hymns, scripture, praise, prayers, and a guided meditation in which we encounter the Risen Lord.

This evening on Project PSi: The Legal Aspects of the Paranormal. Dr. Chuck Kennedy, Ph.D., R.N. talks about all the different legal questions surrounding the paranormal, as well as case law and decisions that affect Paranormal Investigation. In what states do you have to disclose that your house is haunted? What famous lawsuit, and others, prompted judges to consider testimoney from the dead? What laws are on the books regarding the dead and those who interact with them, as well as cases involving paranormal investigators.
This isn't a "waiver" and "trespassing" discussion: this gets into the heart of what the law considers "personhood" and to what extent the law recognizes an afterlife.
So join us for this fun discussion this evening on Project PSi Radio: Where Science Meets the Paranormal on My Old Catholic Radio.
