Royce Young (@RoyceYoung) of ESPN and Daily Thunder joins Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) to preview the Oklahoma City Thunder 2015-16 season. Topics include: Whether Kevin Durant is all the way back; the trades for Enes Kanter and Dion Waiters and how they will fit in this year; whether Coach Billy Donovan can diversify the offensive system; and the Thunder's best lineups. The two also hit on some recent NBA news out of training camps.
If Sam Presti does not hire a coach that Kevin Durant is happy with, chances are Durant will leave Oklahoma City as an unrestricted free agent in July, 2016. That is a fact. Kevin Durant likes Kevin Ollie. That is a fact, too. And Kevin Ollie is Presti's No. 1 choice for the job. That fact was first reported by respected colleague Adam Zagoria, and it is 100 percent on the money.
So what to make of Ollie's statement today, tactfully written in the present tense, that he has "no plans" to leave UConn?
Well, put it this way. I have no plans to marry Taylor Swift. But if circumstances led to that being a possibility ...
As for the other two names that are out there, Billy Donovan and Fred Hoiberg, fans of the Thunder should ask themselves this: "Do either of those guys have a strong relationship with Durant?" Because you can be damn sure that Durant is going to have some input on who OKC's next coach will be. That is why my money is on Ollie -- even if it doesn't happen until the middle of the summer. I explain more in this interview on Erik Gee and Kelly Gregg on 107.7 The Franchise in Oklahoma City.
How the Brooklyn shootings are like the Oklahoma City bombing; Is Bill de Blasio’s political career over?; Meanwhile, down in Washington, er, Havana, um, Hawaii; Seems like only one side in American politics is ready for guilt-by-association accusations; Which side of the aisle is more racist than the other? It’s not even close; and the Left finally finds itself on the receiving end of "guilt collectivization," may they never get out from under it.
[Programming note: We'll be on Christmas hiatus the rest of this week. See y'all next Monday! And have a very blessed Christmas!]

The third episode of "The Basketball Truth" will go over Oklahoma City's comeback against the San Antonio Spurs and if they should be favored after holding serve at home. With Indiana winning last night and Paul George showcasing himself as potentially the third-best player in the NBA, is the pressure now building day by day on the Miami Heat? What do I make of Lance Stephenson's ear-blowing incident? Is it more of a distraction for him, or is it actually getting to LeBron James?

The Bulls beat the Oklahoma City Thunder last night 104-98. Derrick Rose led the team with 29 points, so can we stop worrying about his offensive production? Can we also stop worrying about the ridiculous rumors that have Rose and the Bulls breaking up in the near future? The rape case against Patrick Kane was officially dropped by Erie County's DA yesterday. Is this horrible ordeal over for Kane? Did he get lucky and did he learn anything? Plus my fantasy football picks for Week 9!
