One final week of Summer Break on Radio Enso, BUT join me Monday, July 28th at 6 p.m. Pacific/9 Eastern as we dip into the RE Archives. We'll be re-airing a great chat I had back in December 2013 with award-winning author, speaker, and business coach Pamela Slim. Pam joined us for a conversation on navigating the new world of work and her book Body of Work.
About: Pamela Slim spent the first 10 years of her solo practice as a consultant to large corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Charles Schwab and Cisco Systems. In 2005, she started the Escape from Cubicle Nation blog, one of the top career and business sites on the web. She has coached thousands of budding entrepreneurs, in businesses ranging from martial art studios to software start ups. Slim is frequently quoted as a business expert in press such as The New York Times,The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and more. She is a proud suburban mom in Mesa, AZ and has a black belt in Mixed Martial Arts. She is the author of the award winning book Escape from Cubicle Nation: From Corporate Prisoner to Thriving Entrepreneur.
About Body of Work: These days it’s increasingly rare to have a stable career in any field. More and more of us are blending big company jobs, startup gigs, freelance work, and volunteer side projects. We take chances to expand our knowledge, capabilities, and experience. But how do we make sense of that kind of career—and explain it? Pam gives us the tools to have meaningful careers in this new world of work. She shows how to find the connections among diverse accomplishments, sell your story, and continually reinvent and relaunch your body of work.
Introducing our featured guest host, Stacia Christenson, gifted speaker about "The Power of Presence." Stacia joins host Kevin Hunter to discuss reasons people may not understand one another in the workplace or in life in general. Drawing from the five love languages, DISC personality, and the strengths finder (discover your strenghts), Stacia and Kevin share stories about how people at work can understand each other better with a little research and kind consideration of different personality styles.

There is no doubt how we see ourselves today, how we have handled challenging and good moments in the past, and how we want the future to be are about factors within us. Most importantly, the self-confidence within ourselves.
Tune in as I talk about my perspectives on why tending to our self-confidence is the most important factor in our happiness and success personally/professionally.
Looking forward to talking with you, and I hope you are enjoying yourself today!
We will talk to three moms about their experience parenting alone while their husbands work in another city. one who's husband works and lives away 5 days a week, a mom who's husband goes on tour, and a mititary mom dealing with deployment!

in Self Help
Are there days when you don’t want to go to work simply because you don’t want to deal with some difficult person who works there? Do you get agitated when you pull into the parking lot and see “his car?” Do you feel if this person would just go away, your job would be a lot easier? But, that person happens to be your boss or a relative of your boss and he isn’t going anywhere! What can you do about that?
Join host, Judi Moreo, author of “You Are More Than Enough” and guest, Courtney Elizabeth Anderson, the Workplace Relationship Expert, as they explore how you can practice the “Joyful Art of Business,” and look at ways to combine the positive benefits of our professional endeavors (“business”) with the overall return on our efforts (“joy”). Work should not be a chore. The act of engaging in professional endeavors, in any capacity (i.e., as an employee employer, entrepreneur, contractor, volunteer, paid, full time, part time, intermittently, etc.) is an expression of our ideas and creative endeavors (“art”).
You don’t want to let the negative actions and behaviors of others steal your joy. By understanding that many people lack confidence and are unhappy which affects the way they behave, and by boosting our own self-confidence, we can improve our relationships. “When people are confident, when they think they are good at something, regardless of how good they actually are, they display a lot of confident nonverbal and verbal behavior. When they are faking confidence is usually when the difficult behavior arises.” Anderson believes that truly confident people don’t alienate others. Listen in and learn how you can boost your confidence and deal with those who are currently making your life miserable.
