Who did that to you? Featuring Godis Nanu'

    in News

In her healing modality Nanu is known as the Spirit Doctor or The Oracle. What she does is engage her clairvoyance-which means she will see your spirit/energy and aura among other things. During the session she will walk you through the process of opening to her and she will tell you what she sees. There is really no telling what to expect before hand as it is always dependent upon ones individual needs and expectations. Its just like going to the doctor for a check up accept she is viewing your energetic body instead of your physical body. Ultimately she will edify, heal, and reveal--while teaching you to become master of your own alchemy and universe.

Dick Monda “Daddy Dewdrop” Returns to Late Night

    in Culture

    Listen Live @ http://www.swoopsworld.com
On Wednesday August 24, 2011, 8pm-11pm/PST  we are happy to have singer/songwriter Dick Monda aka “Daddy Dewdrop” return to Swoop’s World Late Night.  After Dick, we’ll be taking on all topics, and of course our regular Brewskis, sports, and any other news of the day segments. Tune in at Swoopsworld.com.

Monda’s first record was released a year before he graduated with a degree in mathematics. “When I heard it on the radio, I was hooked. Although it took over a hundred releases before I had a hit I was driven to succeed.” Said Monda.  “By this time, I had a wife and two children and times were tough. When my first song charted, Soul Drippin’ by the Mauds out of Chicago, I gained a small foothold.” Eventually his songs were recorded by, Tom Jones, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, Kenny Rogers, Engelbert Humperdinck, Frankie Laine, Sammy Davis Jr., The Standells, Papa John Creach, Wolfman Jack, The Righteous Brothers, Rufus, The Chi-Lites, Ringo Starr and others totaling around six hundred recordings.

Dick Monda wrote the song “Chick-A-Boom” for the cartoon, Sabrina and the Groovie Goolies. The song was re-recorded and distributed by Sunflower Records, and released a full album of novelty based tunes, including “Chick-A-Boom” and was retitled “Chick-A-Boom (Don’t Ya Jes’ Love It)”. The tune was a hit in the US, peaking on the Billboard Pop Singles chart at #9 in 1971, and #3 on Cashbox. A second single, “Fox Huntin’/The March of the White Corpuscles” and also his further release, “Nanu Nanu (I Wanna’ Get Funky With You)” from 1978.

Dick Monda "Daddy Dewdrop" on Swoop's World Primetime

    in Culture

This Wednesday March 2, 2011 on Swoop's World Primetime welcome Dick Monda aka "Daddy Dewdrop" to the studio.Daddy Dewdrop is a pseudonym for an American songwriter named Dick Monda (born 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio), backed up by some studio musicians, including Tom Hensley who later became the musical director for Neil Diamond, and Butch Rillera who later became a member of the group Redbone. Monda had written the song "Chick-A-Boom" for the cartoon, Sabrina and the Groovie Goolies. The song was re-recorded and distributed by Sunflower Records, and released a full album of novelty based tunes, including "Chick-A-Boom" and was retitled "Chick-A-Boom (Don't Ya Jes' Love It)". The tune was a hit in the US, peaking on the Billboard Pop Singles chart at #9 in 1971, and #3 on Cashbox.[1] A second single, "Fox Huntin'/The March of the White Corpuscles" and also his further release, "Nanu Nanu (I Wanna' Get Funky With You)" from 1978. Richard Monda had earlier also founded and worked with a popular Los Angeles band the Novells back in the mid to late 1960s, who later recorded an album on Mothers Records under the supervision of H.B. Barnum. The album, "That Did It!" contains a song entitled "Age of Innocence," which was written and produced by Richard Monda. Therefore, Richard Monda, despite rumors to the contrary, discovered the Novells before H.B. Barnum did. Monda went on to write hits for other artists such as Ringo Starr, Kenny Rogers, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Sammy Davis Jr., and many others. Monda continues to record as Daddy Dewdrop and recently released a CD entitled This Time. Join us at Wednesday at 8pm(PST). Listeners can call in live (917) 889-7449 or join in via our online chat. Use the “Set a Reminder Function” now and you won’t miss a minute.
