    BWE Online Bible Study

    in Christianity

We should read and study the Bible because it is God's Word to us. The Bible is literally "God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16). In other words, it is God's very words to us. There are so many questions that philosophers have asked that God answers for us in Scripture. What is the purpose to life? Where did I come from? Is there life after death? How do I get to heaven? Why is the world full of evil? Why do I struggle to do good? In addition to these "big" questions, the Bible gives much practical advice in areas such as: What do I look for in a mate? How can I have a successful marriage? How can I be a good friend? How can I be a good parent? What is success and how do I achieve it? How can I change? What really matters in life? How can I live so that I do not look back with regret? How can I handle the unfair circumstances and bad events of life victoriously?

We should read and study the Bible because it is totally reliable and without error. The Bible is unique among so-called "holy" books in that it does not merely give moral teaching and say, "Trust me." Instead, we can read it for ourselves.

Can Christians be allowed to stay neutral on gay rights?

    in LGBT

Maybe I don't have any feelings strong enough to present an opinion on public issues concerning gay rights.  Maybe my feelings are individual per situation and I don't want to share.  Jon, Don and Jane will discuss cultural mores' and historical ways of grappling with gay concerns.  They will also discuss newsworthy coverage by Variety Magazine, Esquire and others who publicized protests at the Beverly Hills Hotel because a sheikfrom Brunei who believes in Sharia law owns it and Sharia law opposes choosing a homosexual life.  He implements strong Sharia adjudication in his own country of moral laws conerning harsh punishment including big consequences for married women and others.

Martin Luther King - The American Dream part 2

    in Moms and Family

Martin Luther King, Jr., was a champion of great principles, laboring mightily and in the end sacrificing his life to advance the cause of equal rights for all. At the level of first principles—in his commitments to natural rights, democratic government, and the irrelevance of race to moral personhood and just social deserts—King’s political thought might properly claim a consensus among virtually all American citizens. But with respect to the relation between those first principles and the programmatic means for effecting them, his thought leaves much ground for legitimate dispute. A careful analysis of King’s political teaching shows that these two elements of his thinking are in tension with one another and thereby account for the persistent divisions over how to understand his legacy.

Group Consciousness or Collective Consciousness on Talk-N-Angels

    in Spirituality

What is group consciousness?  If you look it up on Wikipedia, it will tell you the following:

Collective conscience is the set of shared beliefs, ideas and moral attitudes which operate as a unifying force within society.

When I talk to my angels and guides about group consciousness, they refer me to the mass belief in the illusion that we are all separate, that we must fight for resources and that we are basically destined to war for all eternity.

Our angels want us to disconnect from the group thinking that dictates our beliefs, the marketing and advertising that tells us we need something outside of ourselves to make us happy, and instead they want us to begin creating a new group consciousness that advocates for truth of being.

This week on Talk-N-Angels Radio Show, Rita and Mike invite you to consider your part in the collective consciousness and how your thoughts, words, actions and intentions can affect the entire planet.

Christianity: The Highest Standard (Christian Ethics)

    in Christianity

Today on EBC†RADIO LIVE, Richard & Charlie are talking about Christianity being the highest of all standards. We as Christians whether at our jobs, in our personal lives or when we are with our friends are embassadors of our faith.  That calling is known as the Christian Ethic.

Today we are asking a simple question; On whom are your ethics based? Man or God?

It is only in Christianity and only the Christian that can claim to have solid ground for morality and ethics that is set upon truth, not in moral relativism.  All other worldviews are based on the ideals or thoughts of man, not God. Therefore, Christianity is the highest standard and is the only standard in which the progressive revelation of Jesus Christ and  enteral Salvation is present.

Republican and Democrat Christians causing moral dilemma and political hypocrisy

    in Politics

    Hypocrisy on the Democrat side:

How can President Obama and other Democrats say they are Christians, followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and advocate for the act of homosexuality and lesbianism? Then turn and point fingers at republicans for being insensitive to the poor and needy.

    Hypocrisy on the Republican side:

Why did Billy Graham scrubb the Mormon religion off his web site as a cult religion, so that he could endorse Mitt Romney for President?  Why did Cardinal Dolan take the lead in criticizing Obamacare for forcing the Church to pay for abortions and contraceptives, when he was paying insurance for these services up to ten years before Obamacare?

Dr Alan Keyes joins Host Kevin Hunter on The Business Forum Show

    in Business

Known as one of the greatest orators of our time, Dr. Alan Keyes has long been recognized for his leadership within the conservative movement. His eloquent advocacy of our Constitutional Republic and championing of pro-life principles underscore Alan's recognition and respect for the moral basis of liberty and self-government. Alan Keyes is an unwavering defender of the American people's sovereignty through focus on securing our borders; abolishing federal income tax; reigning in the rogue Federal Judiciary; and building banking and financial systems that halt the looting of America's wealth and income. Dr Keyes proudly served as a high-level diplomat during Ronald Reagan's presidency, including time as ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and a assistant secretary of state for international organizations. Keyes also hosted a radio talk show, The Alan Keyes Show: America's Wake-Up Call, and a television commentary show on the MSNBC cable network, Alan Keyes Is Making Sense. President Reagan spoke of Keyes's time as an ambassador, saying that he "did such an extraordinary job ... defending our country against the forces of anti-Americanism." Reagan continued, "I've never known a more stout-hearted defender of a strong America than Alan Keyes.

Origin of Moral Law in a Godless Society

    in Education

What is the source of moral law?

Ravi Zacharias states: "If there is evil, there is good.  If there is good there has to be a moral law, and if there is a moral law, there has to be a transcendent moral law giver."

The law of Thelema was developed in the early 1900s by Aleister Crowley, an English writer and ceremonial magicain. This law states: "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will."

Moral relativism is the view that moral judgments are true or false only relative to some particular standpoint (for instance, that of a culture or a historical period) and that no standpoint is uniquely privileged over all others.

Richard Dawkins:  DNA neither cares nor knows.  DNA just is.  And we dance to its music.

    King James Bible:

Psalm 40:8  I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Hebrews 8:10  For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hebrews 10:14-18 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Jeremiah 31:33  But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

THE CORINTHIAN CHURCH: THE FOUNDATION THAT UNIFIES

    in The Bible

As we continue our study of the books of First and Second Corinthians, let's not forget the context of Paul's letters to them. There were allot of moral, ethical and even leadership issues that challenged the church's continued survival. This church was established in the port-city of Corinth, making it a very wealthy commercial center throughout the region of the Mediterranean. As a result of their geographic location, Corinth became a very important commercial city, with many immoral distractions.  The vice industry arose within Corinth. Vices such as prostitution, political corruption, alcoholism and the breakdown of the family unit led to the creation of a city that was noted for everything sinful.

This evening we will be addressing moral disorders in the Church, as noted i 1 Corinthians 5:1 through 6:20.
