They have been delighting and entertaining audiences throughout the Pacific Northwest for over a decade. The group is known for creating their own songs with an original style both humorous and heartfelt, about daily life (motherhood, coffee, rain, relatives and love), they also sing messages about tolerance, unity, and peace. Mockingbird is available for benefit concerts, special events, library programs, fairs, festivals, and private parties.

The novel is renowned for its warmth and humor, despite dealing with the serious issues of reap and racial inequality. The narrator's father, Atticus Finch, has served as amoral hero for many readers and as a model of integrity for lawyers. One critic explains the novel's impact by writing, "In the twentieth century, To Kill A Mockingbird is probably the most widely read book dealing with race in America, and its protagonist, Atticus Finch, the most enduring fictional image of recial heroism" (Wikipedia.org)

Join us as we read through the book and discuss the chapters before Harper Lee releases her follow up to this iconic story during the turbulent times of racial inequalities post Southern Reformation in America. You may have read the book many years ago, but I urge you to join us as we walk through the book together, 3 chapters a week. The last week we'll have about 4 chapters to read, but we can do it! Your voice is imporant so make sure to read the first 3 chapters and join us on March 10th and call in with your favorite passages of the week or your opinions. See you then and remember "it's a sin to kill a mockinbird," the one thing that doesn't show in the movie, but remains always in our minds!
BOOK CLUB HIATUS until next week. Tune in as we discuss the next chapters in this wonderful book. We always have a lively discussion about the book and sometimes it brings up memories of our own live which we love to share with you.
I actually watched the movie for the first time this weekend. (this is Nina) It was a good movie but it centered more on the trial and not so much on the characters. You really don't get to know the characters in the movie like you do in the book and I found a lot of the important events in the book were not even metioned in the movie.
This week we'll cover Chapters 4-6. Last week was wonderful with colorful descriptions of the South when Scout "Ms Jean Louise Finch" started school for the first time. We had a rousing discussion about "Cooties" and what they meant to everyone as well as the gender of Scout as she was introduced to us in the first 22 pages. There's much to read, say and discuss so join us for time-honored entertainment of feeding the brain. There is a Rainbow of books out there and we hope you support reading through shows like this. Here's a lovely tidbit to tickle your funny bone as Jimmy Fallon provides us with a wonderful cover of "Reading Rainbow" as Jim Morrison

Last week we discussed chapters 7 to 9. It is quite enchanting to return to Maycomb County each week and the sleepy simplistic lifestyle that Ms Lee shows us including all the ins and outs of proper behaviors that Scout readily fought during her "coming of age" years. Join us and see how easily you'll slip into a time long gone with standards and beliefs we hope are somewhat far behind current society's treatment of each other!

GAME OF THRONES Season 4 - Episode 7 (5/18/14): ‘Mockingbird’ Tyrion enlists an unlikely ally. Daario entreats Dany to allow him to do what he does best. Jon’s warnings about the Wall’s vulnerability fall on deaf ears. Brienne follows a new lead on the road with Pod.
Media Month continues here in the Front Row and this week Crafty & The Adamizer put the MSM in the crosshairs or better put, the MSMM (Main Stream Mockingbird Media). Where does Mockingbird come from? Well, you know it's bad when even Wiki can give you a pretty straight forward answer on such an incredible topic...."Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media." Of course, the only point I would argue with any of that from Wiki is the part where it says, "was". The actual operation might be over but the ties betwen the intelligence community and MSM & Hollywood are as strong as ever.
Conspiracy? Maybe. Screwed? Definitely.
