SORT BY Relevancy
We knew the odds were against Democrats in yesterday's midterm election, and even if we hadn't known, the breathless horserace reporting of the mainstream media made sure of it. It pains us to acknowledge that the pollsters' "likely voters" predictions came true -- we allowed the Republicans to win by not casting votes of our own. Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills conduct the post-mortem and look at the few bright spots in yesterday's results. Political discussion from the progressive point of view by the MOMocrats. Produced by Engender Media Group.
Matt Frendewey is the National Communications Director for The American Federation for Children. Led by the NEA and AFT, the national teachers' unions boasted of spending $80 million in this election to defeat candidates who support vouchers, teacher accountability and other promising education reforms. They lost. And they lost big.
The number one target for school choice opponents was Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, an unapologetic supporter of vouchers for kids in the struggling under-performing schools. The unions spent millions to defeat Walker – three times – and they lost all three times.
The American Federation for Children and the Alliance for School Choice seek to improve our nation’s K-12 education by advancing systemic and sustainable public policy that empowers parents, particularly those in low-income families, to choose the education they determine is best for their children.
American Vernacular brings you another installment of Political Hodge Podge as we revisit the stories that captured our imaginations this political season as the future of our nation hangs in the balance. We'll also give you the list of candidates and propositions we endorse. Hosted by America's favorite angry black woman, Sandra Booker.
Will it be a Red Rebellion or will the flames of the Tea Party led GOP be washed out by a Blue Tsunami. Tune in and join the conversation as we countdown to the midterms of 2014 and continue our "Remember in November" campaign as America goes to the polls. Don't forget about our "Everyday People" segment where you the people get to say what on your mind too.

2014 was not the best year ever in my world. It was one of those years that had a lot of painful soul growth experiences. Have I become stronger because of it? YES. Do I have regrets? NO.
I am aware that I am here as a soul on this planet at this time to experience, even when those experiences suck. Thankfully, the good experiences help balance the ones that are not so good.
So, with all the ups and downs that 2014 brought to all of us, lets bless and release the energies of 2014 to clear the space for 2015.
How? I will teach you how to Write a Soul Letter. I challenge all of you to do this, if you feel inclined. I am burning mine on December 31st because that feels right to me personally.
Take your time and edit this letter for yourself until you feel that energetic click ( like a puzzle piece going in the correct spot) to know it is done.
