The @a2iwheels/www.a2iwheelandtire.com guestline presents MLive.com's Kyle Austin, who joins Sports in the Mitten to discuss Michigan State basketball.
The Spartans are in the mix for a couple of transfers, and SITM asks Austin about the possibilities of landing one or both. Also, we'll talk about Byrd's transfer and what that means for Izzo.
Hosts Adam Biggers and John Gustin also hit on the Tigers, Michigan football recruiting, the NBA Playoffs and more.

Ohio State basketball has struggled at times this season, and now could potentially miss the NCAAs entirely if a few things don't go their way. Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska have also failed to meet expectations. Why? We chat with BT Powerhouse to catch up on all things Big Ten basketball, including why big teams haven't played as well, who makes the tournament, who can get things fixed in time, and more
The Red Wings continue their 6-game road trip in Edmonton against the Oilers, in Calgary against the Flames, and in Washington against the Capitals.
The Pistons take a Texas two-step and try to stay red hot coming back home to the Palace.
The Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Central Michigan Chippewas, Western Michigan Broncos, and Eastern Michigan Eagles continue college basketball conference play. An easy road ahead for the green and white and the maize and blue. U-M and MSU should be able to handle their opponents well.

How did the Lions fare against the Cowboys in Dallas in the NFC Wild Card Divisional Playoff Round to kick off the 2015 NFL Playoffs? If they won, I preview the next playoff road game. If not, I sum up their entire 2014 season in a nutshell.
Can the Red Wings and Pistons stay red hot through the new year, especially since the Pistons waived Josh Smith 13 days ago?
Did the Michigan State Spartans beat the Baylor Bears in the Cotton Bowl Classic in Dallas?
The Big Ten and MAC Conference schedules gets underway in college basketball.
Did the Lions beat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field for the first time since 1991 and clinch the NFC North Division Championship, home-field advantage, and a first-round bye?
Have the Red Wings or Pistons won a game yet lately?
How did the Central Michigan Chippewas fare against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl on Christmas Eve?
Is Jim Harbaugh coming to coach the Michigan Wolverines Football team? I also preview the Michigan State Spartans' Cotton Bowl game against the Baylor Bears on New Year's Day of 2015 at 12:30 PM EST.
More college basketball in the mitten.
Can the Tigers get more bullpen help than just Alex Wilson?
2 Detroit Lions players (Golden Tate III and Matthew Stafford) make the Pro Bowl. How did they do individually? And no, I won't waste time talking about the football deflations with the New England Patriots, Marshall Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks, or Super Bowl XLIX, which starts next week.
The Red Wings have won 5 in a row, but they should still cut ties with defenseman Jonathan Ericsson. He has played a heck of a lot worse than everyone else on this roster, and he's still a virus the way I see it. I explained it on my own website blog a few days ago. And no, I won't talk much about the NHL All-Star Game, especially considering the fact that there were no Red Wings players in it, although I would've preferred Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar to be there.
The Pistons lose Brandon Jennings, which is a devastating blow, but that is NOT their biggest problem. What IS their biggest problem is their defense, and that's been their biggest problem all season. They've given up over 100 points per game all season thus far. They need to stop worrying so much about Brandon Jennings and just play tougher defense.
Why the Spartans and Wolverines will both still make the NCAA Tournament in 2015. Michigan State is 13-7, and Michigan is 12-8. Neither of them will win either of the 2015 Big Ten titles (regular season or tournament)
The Tigers lose Max Scherzer to the Washington Nationals on a 7-year, $210 million contract, which very well decreases their chances of winning the World Series in 2015, but Justin Verlander is getting "better than ever".
Penn State hoops finally won a conference game this week! The Nittany Lions went 1-1 during its most recent stretch of games, as they lost in controversial fashion to Michigan State before taking down Rutgers at home. Actually, that's a bit weak. Penn State tied Rutgers to a tree and beat it over and over with a 9 Iron. Yeah, that's better.
On this episode of the BSD Basketbro Show, Bill, Chad and Tim discuss the week in PSU hoops. The guys hit on everything from the games to Brandon Taylor's injury to whether or not Penn State is held to a lower standard by Big Ten refs. You should listen. It's a good time.
There is a Big Ten game of some import this weekend, and to better understand it, we're chatting with Spartans expert Chris Vannini. We discuss whether this is a rivalary or not, Michigan State's 4th quarter troubles, what position groups they'll have the greatest advantage (and disadvantage), where Cook sits on the pantheon of great QBs across the country, and whether he'd like to fight a Joey Bosa sized Duck. Also, after the show, we break down some major Ohio State recruiting developments.

Did the Lions clean up their penalties and beat the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field to improve to 10-4? I also give a little preview of Lions at Bears in Chicago next Sunday at 1 on FOX.
The Red Wings are on the chase for first place in the Eastern Conference. Did they play better to get their revenge on the Florida Panthers this past Friday?
The Pistons' road to 3-79 comes to a comforting hault.
The non-conference college basketball season winds down for the Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Central Michigan Chippewas, Western Michigan Broncos, Eastern Michigan Eagles, Oakland Grizzlies, and Detroit Mercy Titans.
The Tigers make a couple trades and are no longer pursuing Max Scherzer.
The Lions stare down at a terrible 2-10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers team at Ford Field. Also, the game against the Minnesota Vikings has been moved to 4:25 PM EST still next Sunday on FOX.
The Red Wings try to continue to roll, while the Pistons desperately try to get out of a very deep hole.
The Michigan State Spartans, Michigan Wolverines, Central Michigan Chippewas, Western Michigan Broncos, Eastern Michigan Eagles, and all college teams in the state of Michigan continue their college basketball regular seasons.
