Gold has taken a beating this year, dropping to lows not seen since 2010. Gold miners are down dramatically, many trading less than half of the share price they were then.
So, where is gold headed for 2014? For answers, I'll be hosting Rob McEwen, the chairman and CEO of McEwen Mining, who is veteran with three decades in gold mining and a multi-billion dollar success behind him. Rob has his own money on the line and an ambitious goal on his mind.
Rob and I will be discussing the following:
1. Will gold rally in 2014?
2. McEwen Mining's plans to get a S&P 500 listing by 2015.
3. McEwen's progress on revenue and profitability targets.
5. Gold forecast for the next 2-5 years.
6. Rob McEwen's legacy in the gold mining industry.

Scott McEwen wrote American Sniper with his close friend and former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. McEwen was also a consultant on the $1 billion box-office hit Oscar-winning film starring Bradley Cooper and directed by Clint Eastwood.
This past Monday, Scott released his latest book, a thriller novel titled "The Sniper and the Wolf". Inspired by once-classified narratives of active and retired US Navy SEALs, this heart-pounding military thriller, co-authored with Thomas Kolonair, is his third novel inspired by special ops missions.

Long before the tech sector christened almost every type of analytics as big data, the pharmaceutical and biotech industries were heavily reliant on analytics to develop new, safer drugs, and to produce those drugs more efficiently. Big data plays a key role in building upon what we have learned about the human genome, in managing effective clinical trials, in long-term monitoring of drug applicability in real-world healthcare, and in managing the manufacturing process.
Consider what the use of big data in pharma and biotech companies means to you as a consumer. It means getting the right drug to the right patient at the right time for the right condition. Now, consider what you can learn as a business person -- no matter what industry you are in -- from the analytics techniques, and the data management and data mining concepts pioneered by big pharma.
Jim Baxter, head of the life sciences practice at Collaborative Consulting, joins All Analytics Radio on Tuesday, May 19, at 2 pm EDT, for a discussion of how pharma and biotech companies finding benefits in big data analytics.
In this show you will learn:
How use of big data analytics have evolved in the drug and medical device industries
What types of benefits life sciences companies are finding through use of analytics
What big data in pharma means to you as a possible patient
What the future holds for use of analytics in life sciences
What lessons big pharma can teach analytics professionals and decision makers about use of big data in their own business environments

In our quest to create the life of our dreams, and to be the people we’ve always imagined ourselves being, we must become willing to truly take a look at ourselves, take a personal inventory, so that we can get a better sense of our strengths and weaknesses.
Now this, admittedly, can seem downright overwhelming. In many ways, it can seem like we are on a mining expedition seeking out negativity. And if all we’re going to do is pick ourselves a part, then what’s going to be left? We might end up feeling like Swiss cheese - full of holes.
But we have to realize that coming to terms with our defects of character is only looking at part of the picture. If we concentrate only on our flaws and our weaknesses, then we are leaving out our strengths.
In this podcast we learn that an inventory is simply an accurate account of what you have and what you don’t. And what you have is just as an important part of the equation as what is lacking.
And we will ultimately find that a strong foundation, on which to build the life of your dreams, cannot be constructed from failures. They have to be built on our strengths. Our failures can serve to redirect us, but in the end, it will be the positive aspects of ourselves, our victories that will motivate us to keep moving forward, and out of the ruts of the past.
