    My Life then and now!

    in Self Help

Today I am going to talk a little about myself and how I came around to be the woman that I am today.  My life started in 1948.  At the age of three my birth father passed away and my mother married my now dad who back then adopted my older sister and myself.  There are many parts of my younger days that I don't remember - maybe I've blocked them out.....in the meanwhile two other brothers and a baby sister came around. Life seemed fairly "normal" until I was about 15....we had moved from Southern California to Dayton Ohio because my dad had a new job..O!  This is the other thing...I could never figure out why my mother would be ironing my dad's underwear at 3 o'clock in the morning and then watering our front lawn at 11 p.m.  I found out later on that she was hooked on diet pills....that was her thing and at 15 she kindly told me that it looked like I was gaining some weight (I wasn't) and "here, honey - take this pill.  It will help you"...trusting my mom I took the pill and loved it SO much that I asked her for another one the next day....little did I know this was the beginning of my addiction to everything!  I went on a pill rampage at 18 - water pills - then diet pills - I was really a pill head.....had to stay thin or I would never find a man - (my mom told me).....this was the late  60's early 70's.....hippie nation!  everything was in!  I was into uppers, downers, sidewinders anyway but straight, ok?  Then it was the pot and then the psychedelics - for three years straight - every day - I was over the edge one might say....but so was everyone else - through 4 failed marriages and hundreds of men I crashed one day.  I was probably 50 yrs old.....my then husband had been popped on a UA while we were truck driving - we longhauled for some years - and so he couldn't drive -

    Interview With Singer Ty Shwortzz

    in Writing

Ty Shwortzz was born and raised in ONT, Canada.

From the very moment Ty could talk, music was a huge part of her life. Her father was a singer/keyboardist in the band "Back to Back" and she often went to his shows and practices.

Learning to play the Keyboard at the age of 4, she began to enjoy entertaining, even if it was just in the living room of her family home, often putting shows together for Mom and Dad and the odd family friend.

At the age of seven, she began performing in talent competitions and karaoke parties. At the age of 13, Ty began writing music and poetry.

In 2011, Ty had the opportunity to write a verse to a song for a contest, which consisted of a music video and recording session. The people who wrote the best verses became a part of the project titled "The Lean on Me Project" .

While presenting her part for the contest, another hopeful singer "Li'l Crunk", noticed her and offered to work together to create a single which would later be known as "Yeah Right". Ty was given an instrumental piece; she wrote the lyrics to it and provided lead and backup vocals.

2011 was also a big year for Ty as she performed on Canada D'EH in front of an estimated crowd of 3000. This was the first time performing her own piece from the previous contest! She also performed at an outreach for hunger event and played some of her original pieces for Jack Laytons’ Cancer Benefit.

In March, 2015, she was interviewed on "Brian The Hammer Show", which airs in L.A., with many interviews all over the world to follow as well as some overseas.

Ty will also be working together with singer/songwriter Melanie Warner (cousin of Patsy Cline).

    Tough Talk Christian Radio

    in Christianity

Tough Talk Christian Radio with Host Tony Gambone with special guest Kay Bransford & Dan Farnow:

Kay Bransford - Chief Curator of MemoryBanc, Kay left a role as a senior executive in a Fortune 200 firm to help care for her ailing parents. In the process, she created a system that would help families organize important documents, accounts and assets as well as navigate some legal roadblocks that were unexpected and impacted her ability to help her parents. Now Kay is a modern-day Paul Revere warning families that divide and conquer in her book, MemoryBanc: Your Workbook to Organizing Life, about the importance of documenting online personal, financial, medical, and household details so the information can be easily found and shared with loved ones if and when it’s needed. Today, MemoryBanc delivers an award-winning system to families around the globe to help organize and protect their information in both print and digital formats.

Dan Farnow is an author who has written the book "The Quest For Marriage," which is an off-beat, unorthodox, and humorous guide for Christian men looking to get married and what the journey is like, with no subject off limits. I serve as a group leader at my church where I assist in healing ministry and teaching Bible Studies. He has had his book published for over a year. The reason for writing it is that I did not see a Christian relationship book about dating that was guy-friendly. Most books out there are about standards that should be kept, but not a whole lot about practical obstacles that will be faced.

    Happy Father's Day, Mom

    in Self Help

    Happy Father’s Day Mom
It seems today that Father’s Day is not held to the same caliber as Mother’s Day. However, both days are to show appreciation to an individual that has a child or children. In a lot of cases mothers take on the role of a father figure because of different reasons. Reasons such as being a single mother due to divorce or being single at the time of birth, death of the father, or a father that is not supportive. Regardless of the reason a mother has to play the role; is it okay for the woman to receive the acknowledgment on Father’s Day? Of course a single mother works hard to pick up the slack the father would have provided but there is still a father in the picture, if the father is not deceased. The child got here some kind of way. The society we live in has no problem with bashing men that are not great fathers but there is a problem with excluding men that are good fathers just because they are not with the mother or in the household. So is the statement Happy Father’s Day, Mom okay?
