This show is about Free Long Beach advertising! Some business owners are skeptical when it comes to free offers. Many refuse to take advantage of the free offer until that have “figured out” how the “money is being made” by those providing the free offers.
This show will dispel some of the age-old notions like “there is no such thing as a free lunch” and other clichés. But, the currently reality is that there are “free lunches” (viable products and services) being provided in the business environment. Simply put – the business landscape has changed and is still changing.
On this show, you will learn about sources of free advertising opportunities in Long Beach as well as why there actually are “free lunches” being provided that are bearing great benefits.
Show host and owner of the Long Beach Online Business Directory, Kalem Aquil, will explain where some of the “free lunches” are being served up. Also, learn how this marketing strategy, when used correctly, can and does increase profit for businesses that practice such strategies.
October is national arts and humanities month. In this city, we call it GLOBAL: Long Beach Arts Month. On September 27, 8-9 PM, we preview an event-filled month of arts and culture with Craig Watson, Executive Director of the Arts Council for Long Beach and the masterminds behind the website, www.globallb.com, Rachel Potucek and Ryan Smolar.

Follow-up downloads of the broadcast are available on blogtalkradio.com/re-imagininglongbeach and www.podomatic.com/thecreativitynetwork.

For nearly a year, a group of Long Beach community, media and business leaders have been meeting to discuss the potential role of Digital Media Arts in the economic and community development future of the city. We'll discuss the subject on Re-Imagining Long Beach.
Join us as Blair Cohn, Executive Director, Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association BKBIA, gives updates about the excitement taking place in Bixby Knolls. Even as the monthly First Fridays continue, the BKBIA has laid out an event filled calendar for the summer.
“We’re fine tuning everything we do, but there is always something new on the horizon. The exciting thing is that more and more people are coming to open a business or to buy a building and fix it up. We’re always thinking about what else we can do to promote the neighborhood,” Blair was recently quoted as saying in a recent article.
And, let’s face it, with all of the exciting activities taking place in Bixby Knolls, it will be a good thing to hear more about them. Let’s see, First Fridays, there’s the recent photo contest, the Bixby Knolls Literary Society, Kidical Mass, Concerts In The Park(ing Lot), the Bixby Knolls Strollers, and much more. Be sure to tune in to keep up with the excitement.

The Arts Council for Long Beach faces an 11% cut in funding for Fiscal Year 2011. This on top of other cuts over the past several years totaling more than 40%. While we are all sensitive to the city's fiscal realities, we wanted to understand why a city needing investment in its future would cut back on that investment when it needed it most.
For the next two weeks, Re-Imagining Long Beach will address that subject in two one-hour specials beginning August 16.
The ArtExchange's Executive Director, Alex Slato, will be our guest to speak about an upcoming fundraiser for the planned facility at Third and Long Beach Blvd.
Also, reaction to scheduled City Council Action tomorrow, Tuesday, to confirm the formation of Mayor's Blue Ribbon Committee on Arts Funding.
And last, on this one hour special edition, a preview of Create Long Beach, an action plan for the arts and culture in the city. The document is scheduled to be presented to the Arts Council next Monday, July 12, for its approval.
