Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.
LIfe Lessons kicks off National Small Business Week with Jim Salmon, the head of Business Lending at Navy Federal Credit Union. Salmon shres how to start and grow a business, and he'll share information about programs designed to help military veterans run a successful business. A military veteran himself, Salmon will also discuss why it's good business to support veteran-owned and operated businesses and how veterans have many of the skills necessary to run a successful business.
We hear a lot about helping our brave veterans, but the sad fact is that despite an improving economy, many have difficulty finding employment after leaving the military. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), young male veterans, ages 18 to 24, who served during the Gulf War II era, including those who have served at any time since September 2001, had an unemployment rate of 21.9%(more than double the national average).
This is a REBROADCAST of just the HOT TOPIC segment from yesterday's broadcast!
No question that TRID is a game changer but how you approach this change could make a difference if TRID works to your advantage or to your detriment. There's a select group of lenders out there who are turning TRID into an opportunity to differentiate themselves from their competition by reengineering their business processes thereby creating efficiencies resulting in shorter lending timelines. In a world where mortgage lenders basically sell the same products at close to the same rates, giving consumers and realtors faster service in a post-TRID world could be a huge differentiator.
Tune into today's broadcast to hear how to make your business processes more efficent thereby shortening timelines to turn the new TRID regulation into an opportunity instead of an obstacle. Sharing his expertise and insights on this important topic, we have as our special guest on the broadcast, Tyler Sherman, President and co-founder of Motivity Solutions. Motivity Solutions is the leading mortgage business intelligence provider in the industry that can play a significant role in identifying Inefficiencies within lending processes. On today's broadcast we will be discussing things like (1) how to measure cycle times to (2) establish key performance indicators so you can (3) track the number of business days between the various stages of your lending process.

This week we will re-visit one of our most listened to shows...ADDICTIONS!!
Do you have addictions to alcohol, drugs, eating, gambling, shopping, sex/love, co-dependency, etc.?
Been to 12 step programs, counseling, took various meds but still relapsing? There may be an answer!
On May 5, 2015at 8 pm (Eastern) Dr. Jess Armine will discuss addiction and relapse and the common neuro-physiological basis for addictive behavior as well as the genetic polymorphisms that lead to relapse. He will discuss how consistent cravings, "JONESING", or "white knuckling" are what lead up to relapse. Until now, The Build Up To Relapse has been treated predominantly with psychosocial modalities. The physiological causations are downplayed or remain un-attended. Based on the research of Kenneth Blum, PhD & Bill Downs PhD, these physiological and genetic imbalances are key causes of the cravings that build to relapse. Pioneers like, Dr Ben Lynch, Shawn Bean, h and Dr. Jess Armine have furthered the genetic/epigenetic portion of this research
This week Dr. Armine discusses the physiology of all types of addictions, the genetic contributions, and the new non-drug methods of addiction treatment NAAAT (NeuroAdaptive Amino Acid Therapy) and how combined psychological and physiological treatment gives the best prognosis for long term recovery.
READ THIS PLEASE!!!: Guys, I am a great supporter of the 12 Step Programs and other forms of conseling. NAAAT is to treat the physiological "part" of addictions and is best utilized IN ADDITION TO, NOT INSTEAD OF the 12 Step Programs, etc.
Join Us and Learn! There will be a .pdf and time for Q&A. See you then!!
