The most important part of resolving a problem is addressing the most imminent threat in the problem. Domestic violence is a problem with many sub-factors of damage, but the first problem is usually to put out the abuser's fire and get the victims to safety before we can begin the road to healing. Abusers ALWAYS have a story behind their role...they came from an abusive childhood where they either observed or were victims of abuse themselves, they were bullied without support, etc. For African-AMericans, not only are the usual suspects of factors play a part, but many more unique additions to the pool come into play. Join me tonight at 10:30 pm EST to address the problems behind the abusers, and discuss solutions. Call in at 347-327-9967 to join the discussion.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Justin Beiber makes the news again for a second racist video he made with racist content. Yes, the video was made when he was 14, it's only surfacing today, but many other questions come up with the mere existence of those videos, especially because of the artist's ae when they were made. The focus is not on the actions of Justin Beiber, but on what are we as a community will do about it? Starting with the two famed celebrities who mentor and produce him. Join me tonight at 10:30 PM EST with your thoughts.

SPONSORED BY CARL TONE JONES Continuing our series on the destructive attraction to "bad girls/bad boys". Men are our leaders. They head the family, the community, etc. The caliber of greatness that they achieve starts with how great they played their role in their beginnings...the mostimportant beginning they have after leaving their childhood home is their relationship. Men--especially African-AMerican have it hard, becasue most of the burdens of life falls on their shoulders, and their teachings are usually saturated with macho-saturated ideas of "manhood", so their attitude toward relationships divert their perceptions of "excitement" or long term commitment in a direction that leads to self destruction. Tonight the men are on the hot seat and we're discussing the effects of men's attraction to "bad girls" and the effects on our relationships as a people.
Violence is a plague in our society and it comes in many forms--gang violence, domesic violence, and gun violence just to name a few. More and more children are being injured or killed at a higher rate than medical illnesses, and the African-American community has the highest occurences. WIth all of the anti-violence advocacy groups and anti-violence movements and laws in place, why are the fatalities rising to this issue? Join me tonight at 9:00 pm EST as Kaydee interviews Chris Curry, producer/artist and creator of the amazing "Stop The Violence Movement" video series. Chris discusses the plight of violence in our neighborhoods, and the sad reality of struggling to get more involvement from the people this affects the most. Tune in at 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--We will be continuing on in our barriers against Black economics series. Tonight we are touching on the role that our misdirected or lack of outrage about the continuous brutalization of our community plays as a barrier in the rebuilding of our own economic system---the crucial central base for the restoration of Black America. The messages by the dominant society to African-Americans is clear is ALL of their actions--
LOOK FOR HELP FROM A WHITE PERSON & GET BRUTALLY MURDERED--(Renisha McBride, Jonathan Ferrell)
STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS/STAND YOUR GROUND AGAINST WHITES & GET BRUTALLY MURDERED--(Trayvon Martin, Jordan Davis,)
STAND ON THE SIDEWALK MINDING YOUR BUSINESS WHILE BLACK & GET BRUTALLY MURDERED--(Eric Garner)
Are passive responses to aggressive and demolishing actions one of our biggest barriers to restoration? Join in tonight at 10:30 pm EST with your thoughts by calling 347-327-9967.

SPONSORED BY MARK PITMAN--Conituing our series on breaking down the barriers against Black Economics..tonight, we discuss the effects of out mindsets as a barrier in rebuilding our economic system. Whether it's the hyper-skepticism we practice among each other, the displaced senses of entitlement to free products and services sold by our own, our lack of understanding behind our own entrpremeur's reasons for doing what they do, or any of the other many fragments we need to repair, how do they affect our rebuilding of our economics, and how do we resolve them as issues? Join in tonight to share your thoughts by calling 347-327-9967 at 10:30 pm EST.
SPONSORED BY CARL TONE JONES--Domestic violence is one of the largest problems plaguing our society. The injuries inflicted go far beyond black eyes or broken bones--the breaking of spirits, families, trust and love far outweigh the damage of physical scars. Many medical and psychological jounrals have been published revealing the underlying causes of domestic violence, breaking down both the abusers and the victims reasons for the roles they play in domestic violence, yet the question remains--why does it continue? Aside from the obvious reasons that have been used to explain why victims stay with abusers and why abusers contiue the cycle, the lack of community involvement and the loss of the "village" in the Black community plays a huge role in why domestic abuse continues to spread. Join me tonight at 10:30 pm with your thoughts. Call in at 347-327-9967.
SPONSORED BY CARL TONE JONES--Concluding our series tonight. WHEN HAVE WE HAD ENOUGH? HOW MANY SLIDESHOWS OF TRAGEDY AND DESTRUCTION NEED TO BE PLAYED OF LOST TEENS, MURDERED YOUTH, RACISM AND SEXUAL DEVIANCY IMAGES BEFORE WE GET SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED? We talked about the effects that the poisonous attraction to bad boys/girls has on our community...but since domestic violence statistics, single-parent homes, and twisted relationships aren't enough to convince you...take heed of these names: Brittany Smith, Chanequa Campbell, Afrika Owes and Tyesha Sargeant..four beautiful Afican American young women who attended prestigious gifted schools with Harvrd scholarships. Three of them lost their futures, two lost their freedom, and one lost her life because of their attraction to thug men and their lifestyles. When will we be outraged enough to self-accoutn and make a difference? Tonight both men and women are on the hot seat and directed to communicate all that we contribute to the problemsso that we can take a speed-trip in the direction of healing. Join in at 10:30 PM EST by calling 347-327-9967.
Has the benefits of the special laws become a blanket shield for bad behavior by the protected? For example: If a homosexual individual tries to make an advance, there is a hesitance to press sexual harrassment charges for fear that there will be an outrage against "homophobia" rather than getting the details of the case to adequately prosecute the CRIME. Or a woman makes a false allegation of rape, and although the details of the case clearly show the trickery, time is spent "investiating" for fear of an outcry of sexism and discrimination. The need for government protection for certain special interest groups and special classes is indeed a real one, but the raison d'etre for these laws must be protected from misuse for the good of the communities for which they were implemented.
